Information Security Associate (Auditor)

KirkpatrickPrice is an information security auditing firm hired by our clients to assess how well they protect their data from those who would love to breach and exploit that data. We find vulnerabilities our clients were not aware of, educate them of the flaws, and empower them to fix them, so they can sleep well at night, knowing their data are secure.

Amidst substantial growth and with 1,200 clients around the world, we have created a new position within the firm for those with developing information security experience who would like to become auditors in the future after adding to their experience, acquiring relevant certifications, and demonstrating the expertise needed to succeed as an auditor.

Our Information Security Associates work closely with our experienced Information Security Auditors. They gather and analyze evidence of information security practices and effectiveness, and directly assist auditors in delivering feedback to clients and final audit reports. The position is specifically designed to grow into an auditor position over the course of three to four years that will include earning at KirkpatrickPrice’s expense key information security-related certifications, including Network+, Security+. the CISA, the CISSP, and cloud practitioner certs for AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure, and more.

Competitive Applicants

This is a role for those with a heart to serve clients who often are encountering the need for an information security audit for the first time. Competitive applicants will therefore demonstrate a desire and talent to educate, empower, and inspire clients to greater levels of information assurance.

They will possess three to five years of information security experience, or broader IT experience, but with a demonstrated interest in the discipline of information security.

Competitive applicants will desire to travel. The Associate role will travel about one four-day trip per month, occasionally more. As they progress into an auditor role, that travel pace will increase to normally two four-day trips per month, occasionally more.

And competitive applicants will enjoy working with a talented team of information security professionals across the country who love what they do and strive to serve.

• Passionate teaching about applicable information security compliance standards, such as SOC1, SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, FISMA, GLBA, HITRUST, GDPR, and ISO. We love this alphabet.

Experience

• Three to five years of experience as an information security analyst or cybersecurity professional is optimal, or of information technology experience with a demonstrated interest in the information security discipline.
• A bachelor’s degree in IT or a similar discipline is advantageous.
• Certifications already in hand including S+, N+, and CISA are beneficial. We love this alphabet too.

Productivity

• Energetic about contributing to several projects at differing stages simultaneously. Cat herding experience preferred, but not required.
• Efficient with technology. No technosaurs.
• Willing to travel nationwide. “I’ve just GOT to get out of this house!”
• Must detest a daily commute to an office. Virtual office experience is a must. Some days, it’s fun to just stay in those superhero pajamas.
