    Job Description

    Position Overview

Boyd Thermal is seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead the global commercial organization for its Coolant Distribution Unit business, a portfolio scaling past $1B in revenue next year. This executive owns the global revenue number: the sales strategy, the customer and channel architecture, the pricing discipline that protects gross margin, and the forecasting rigor a business of this growth rate demands. The role spans hyperscale and cloud operators, colocation providers, data center OEMs and integrators, and the engineering and construction partners who specify and install liquid cooling infrastructure.

This is a highly visible role and a critical member of the Boyd Thermal leadership team. The successful candidate will be a thought leader who provides key observations and ideas, identifies risks and opportunities early, and is comfortable operating hands-on with customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing sites across multiple regions. Scaling a business from hundreds of millions to more than $1B is fundamentally a question of capacity, commitment, and disciplined commercial execution — this leader will be measured on all three, and on building the sales organization, processes, and customer relationships that make the next $1B repeatable rather than opportunistic.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Revenue Ownership and Commercial Strategy

    · Own the global CDU revenue plan, developing and executing the sales strategy that carries the business past $1B and establishes the base for the year after.

    · Convert the segment strategic plan into an actionable commercial operating plan by region, customer, and platform, with clear ownership, measures, and review cadence.

    · Build the multi-year pipeline across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and OEM channels, and sequence design wins against qualification timelines and capacity availability.

    · Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and reporting processes so that demand signals reach operations and supply chain early enough to be acted on.

    · Protect gross margin through disciplined quoting, re-pricing, price increase execution, commercial claim recovery, and working capital improvement.

    Customer and Partner Relationships

    · Build and sustain executive-level relationships with hyperscale and colocation operators, data center OEMs, integrators, and the engineering and construction firms that specify liquid cooling infrastructure.

    · Negotiate long-term agreements, capacity commitments, and healthy commercial terms that secure volume without ceding pricing power or exposing the business to unbalanced risk.

    · Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including adjacent applications, new geographies, and channel models that extend the CDU platform beyond its current footprint.

    · Lead strategic alliances and partnerships — including chip, server, and rack ecosystem partners — that accelerate market development and position Boyd early in customer reference designs.

    · Serve as the voice of the customer inside Boyd, translating requirements and feedback into product, pricing, and roadmap decisions.

    Scaling the Business Past $1B

    · Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain so that commercial commitments are matched by capacity, footprint expansion, and program launch readiness — a sold order the business cannot deliver is a liability, not a win.

    · Establish the forecasting discipline, S&OP participation, and demand visibility required to support capital investment decisions ahead of the revenue that justifies them.

    · Analyze market trends, the competitive landscape, and customer feedback to shape product, pricing, and channel decisions in a market where technology and density requirements move quickly.

    · Collaborate with marketing, product development, program management, and customer service to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives across the portfolio.

    Organization, Talent, and Culture

    · Lead, mentor, and motivate a global sales organization, setting clear performance expectations and holding the team accountable for results.

    · Build the organizational capability the growth curve requires — developing internal talent, attracting external talent, and designing territory, quota, and incentive structures that scale with the business.

    · Institutionalize CRM discipline, opportunity management, and win/loss review so that pipeline quality and forecast accuracy improve as volume rises.

    · Support the integration of Boyd into Eaton, adopting Eaton business system processes, governance, and leadership standards across the commercial organization.

    Required Qualifications

    · Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related discipline is required; a master's degree is preferred.

    · Minimum of fifteen years of experience in sales and commercial leadership roles within a multi-national, matrixed manufacturing organization, with a proven track record of success.

    · Demonstrated ownership of a global revenue number of $500M or greater, including responsibility for gross margin performance and pricing.

    · Experience scaling a business through a period of rapid growth, where commercial commitments had to be matched to manufacturing capacity and footprint expansion.

    · Experience leading front-end customer negotiations and long-term agreements with sophisticated buyers — hyperscale or cloud operators, colocation providers, or large OEMs.

    · Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies, including market analysis, segmentation, forecasting, and budgeting, with fluency in CRM and sales management tools.

    · Ability to travel as needed, including internationally.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Direct experience selling liquid cooling, thermal management, power, or critical infrastructure into data center end markets.

    · Working knowledge of CDU technology and the broader liquid cooling stack, including direct-to-chip and rear-door architectures, and the standards environment around them.

    · Experience building a commercial organization in a business that doubled or more, including territory design, quota setting, and incentive structures.

    · Experience operating inside a large industrial parent company or through a post-acquisition integration.
