THE OPPORTUNITY
The Associate Vice President, Insurance Product Product/Platform Management serves as the business owner for the core capabilities that define, govern, and operationalize insurance products and supplemental benefits across Humana.
In this role, you will set the vision and roadmap for modernizing Humana’s insurance product platforms—ensuring they are accurate, compliant, scalable, auditable, and fit for the future. You will drive platform strategy, business requirements, governance, and prioritization while partnering closely with Technology, Data & AI, Actuarial, Compliance, Digital, Marketing, and Operations to translate business needs into modern, resilient solutions.
This leader has accountability for product definition and benefit accuracy that impacts more than 5 million members annually and billions of dollars in supplemental benefits vendor spend. You will lead a team of approximately 15 professional associates and be accountable for the sequencing and prioritization of a dedicated pod within Humana’s Growth Analytics & AI organization, including data governance, business intelligence, and AI enablement resources.
While this is not an IT role, you will serve as the primary business partner to Technology, ensuring investments, delivery plans, and architectural decisions align to business outcomes, regulatory timelines, and long‑term modernization goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead Product Platform Strategy & Enterprise Transformation
• Own the business vision and multi‑year roadmap for Humana’s insurance product platforms and related data assets.
• Drive modernization of legacy capabilities through automation, AI‑enabled tooling, and simplified operating models.
• Establish clear business principles for accuracy, scalability, reliability, auditability, and compliance.
• Balance near‑term regulatory execution with long‑term platform transformation.
Ensure Accurate & Compliant Medicare, Medicaid & Med Supp Execution
• Own the business capabilities that support CMS bid filing, benefit configuration, and regulatory compliance across lines of business.
• Ensure benefits are accurately represented across all downstream channels including digital experiences, member communications, partner systems, and operational processes.
• Partner with Design, Actuarial, IPA, Compliance, and Operations on feasibility, audits, and platform readiness.
Serve as the Business Owner for Data, Automation & AI Enablement
• Partner with Growth Analytics & AI to improve automation, controls, and insight across product definition and supplemental benefits.
• Guide prioritization of data governance, BI, and AI use cases that improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and strengthen controls.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and usage are clearly defined and governed across the ecosystem.
Lead Enterprise Technology Partnership
• Act as the primary business interface to IT for insurance product platform initiatives.
• Partner with Insurance Product Solutions leadership to drive prioritization, sequencing, and tradeoff decisions across a significant annual investment portfolio.
• Ensure delivery plans reflect regulatory deadlines, business readiness, and operational sustainability.
• Influence architectural direction by clearly articulating future‑state business needs.
Oversee Vendor Eligibility & Supplemental Benefits Enablement
• Own the business capabilities that enable accurate member eligibility for supplemental benefits across vendor partners.
• Oversee platform governance and operational performance impacting billions in vendor services spend.
Strengthen Testing, Quality Assurance & Product Accuracy
• Lead teams responsible for product testing, validation, and audit readiness across Medicare, Group Medicare, Medicaid, and Med Supp.
• Continuously improve controls and quality processes through automation and standardization.
Build & Lead a High‑Performing Organization
• Lead, develop, and inspire a growing team of product, platform, testing, and data professionals.
• Create clarity of ownership, accountability, and decision‑making across a complex ecosystem.
• Build talent pipelines and a culture grounded in excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in product/platform management, healthcare operations, or large‑scale business transformation.
• Deep understanding of highly regulated product lifecycles in Insurance or comparable industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading platform modernization, automation, and AI‑enabled transformation initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional efforts and influence without direct authority.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with core insurance product configuration or benefit authoring platforms.
• Background supporting Medicaid or Medicare Supplement products.
• Familiarity with API enablement, data governance, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience overseeing vendor ecosystems and supplemental benefit delivery models.
• Experience partnering closely with IT and data organizations in a business‑owned operating model.
