IMO Health is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to join our growing Healthcare (Non-Provider) Sales team, an area of significant investment as we expand into new markets and accelerate growth. This individual contributor role will be responsible for driving new business with healthcare technology organizations, particularly companies building products and solutions that rely on healthcare data, clinical terminology, analytics, or AI.

As a Business Development Director, you will sell IMO Health’s clinical terminology, data quality, and knowledge graph solutions to organizations looking to improve the quality, consistency, and usability of healthcare data. You’ll engage with organizations ranging from healthcare IT and analytics companies to population health platforms and emerging AI and agentic AI companies.

This is a true hunter role for someone who enjoys opening new markets, navigating complex sales cycles, and solving customer problems through a consultative approach. No two opportunities will be the same, and success will require the ability to understand a customer’s business and technology challenges, connect those challenges to IMO’s capabilities, and build a compelling path to value.

You’ll play a critical role in expanding IMO Health’s market presence and revenue while helping healthcare technology companies unlock greater value from their data.
    IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
  1. Drive growth by targeting and securing new business opportunities within healthcare IT organizations, effectively positioning IMO Health’s solutions.
  2. Boost revenue by developing and executing strategic sales plans that achieve and surpass financial targets.
  3. Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to expand IMO Health’s client base and strengthen market presence.
  4. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
  5. Gain deep exposure to how healthcare technology companies leverage clinical data, terminology, and AI to build and enhance their products.
  6. Expand your understanding of emerging applications of knowledge graphs, NLP, and AI within healthcare technology.
  7. Develop new approaches to bringing complex data and technology solutions to market across a diverse range of healthcare organizations.
  8. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  9. Identify and Secure New Opportunities: Proactively identify, qualify, and advance new business opportunities with healthcare technology organizations, from established platforms to emerging AI companies.
  10. Develop Strategic Sales Plans: Build and execute account and territory strategies designed to generate new business and achieve revenue goals.
  11. Understand Customer Needs: Engage with business, product, technology, and executive stakeholders to understand their challenges and connect them to IMO’s clinical terminology, data quality, and knowledge graph capabilities.
  12. Drive Consultative Sales: Navigate complex, solution-oriented sales cycles by developing a clear understanding of customer requirements, addressing objections, and collaborating with internal teams to shape the right solution.
  13. Build Executive Relationships: Establish credibility and trusted relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, including C-suite and senior technology and product leaders.
  14. Manage Pipeline: Build and manage a healthy revenue pipeline, ensuring opportunities progress effectively through each stage of the sales cycle.
  15. Present and Communicate Value: Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and other sales materials that clearly articulate the business and technical value of IMO’s solutions.
  16. Forecast and Report: Maintain accurate forecasts and CRM data while providing clear visibility into pipeline, opportunities, and expected revenue.
  17. WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  18. 12+ years of enterprise sales or business development experience, with a strong track record in healthcare and experience selling to healthcare technology organizations.
  19. Strong understanding of the healthcare market and the ability to understand how healthcare data is created, managed, exchanged, and used across technology products and solutions.
  20. Demonstrated success hunting for and closing new business, including experience developing leads, building pipelines, navigating complex sales cycles, crafting proposals, and closing high-value subscription or recurring-revenue accounts.
  21. Current understanding of technology and AI, with the ability to credibly engage customers in conversations about how AI and emerging technologies depend on high-quality, well-structured healthcare data.
  22. Experience with clinical terminology, healthcare data quality, code sets, or the relationships among clinical domains such as medications, labs, and problems is a plus.
  23. Familiarity with knowledge graphs, NLP, or related data/AI technologies is a plus.
  24. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and earn trust across technical, business, and executive audiences.
  25. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to use data and customer insights to shape sales strategies and recommendations.
  26. Self-motivated, proactive, and energized by opening new markets and creating opportunities where there is not yet an established playbook.
  27. Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform and experience using CRM data to manage pipeline and sales performance.
  28. At IMO Health, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. IMO Health is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
