    North America Benefits Manager

    Purpose of the Role
    The North America Benefits Manager owns the strategy, design, and delivery of employee benefits across the U.S. and Canada. This role ensures benefits are competitive, compliant, cost‑effective, and aligned to a growing global professional services organization, while delivering a strong employee experience.

    Scope & Impact

    • Lead benefits programs and team supporting ~2,000 employees globally, with primary accountability for North America
    • Partner closely with Payroll, HR Operations, Finance, Legal, and external vendors
    • Balance employee experience, cost management, compliance, and scalability
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership on benefits strategy and market trends

    Key Responsibilities

    • Benefits Strategy & Design
      • Own medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, leaves, and voluntary benefits for the U.S. and Canada
      • Evaluate competitiveness and make recommendations aligned to business growth and talent needs
      • Support global benefits alignment while accounting for regional requirements
    • Administration & Operations
      • Oversee day‑to‑day benefits administration, including enrollment, life events, and vendor management
      • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions, taxation, and reconciliation
      • Manage annual open enrollment end‑to‑end
    • Compliance & Governance
      • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, state/provincial regulations, and local labor laws
      • Manage audits, filings, plan documents, and vendor SLAs
    • Vendor & Broker Management
      • Lead relationships with brokers, carriers, TPAs, wellness providers, and benefits technology vendors
      • Support RFPs, renewals, and cost negotiations
    • Employee Experience & Communication
      • Translate complex benefits into clear, employee‑friendly communications
      • Partner with HR and Communications on education, engagement, and change management
    • Analytics & Cost Management
      • Monitor costs, utilization, and vendor performance
      • Prepare reports and insights for leadership, including trend, risk, and savings opportunities

    Core Requirements

    • 7+ years of progressive experience in benefits management, with strong focus on U.S. benefits
    • Hands‑on experience managing health and welfare plans and retirement programs
    • Deep working knowledge of benefits compliance and regulations (U.S.; Canada preferred)
    • Proven experience partnering with brokers, carriers, and payroll teams
    • Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, professional services or payroll environment
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complexity for employees and leaders
    • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and accountable owner mindset
    • Effective leader and strong team management experience

    Nice‑to‑Haves

    • Experience supporting Canada benefits or broader global benefits exposure
    • Background in payroll‑centric or HR technology organizations
    • Experience scaling benefits in a growing or transforming organization
    • Familiarity with benefits systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar platforms)
    • Exposure to M&A, integration, or re‑baseline initiatives
    • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), CEBS, or similar credential

    Salary Pay Range

    Minimum - Maximum:

    $100,170.00 - $186,030.00
