    Job Description Summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a senior internal communications leader to support communications related to labor and colleague relations across the organization. This role partners closely with the Labor Relations and HR teams to plan and deliver thoughtful, proactive communications that help leaders and colleagues understand relevant processes, updates, and resources. The role requires comfort operating in environments where labor considerations, employee sentiment, and business continuity intersect.

Reporting to the Head of Colleague Communications, this role will focus primarily on supporting labor and colleague relations communications, including proactive communications planning, message development, and ongoing communications support in collaboration with cross-functional partners. The role will help ensure communications are clear, accurate, and aligned with company values, and policies.

While the primary focus of this role is supporting labor and colleague relations communications, the position will also contribute to broader communications initiatives and special projects across the Colleague Communications team.

This position requires a communicator who brings strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to navigate complex or sensitive topics with clarity and care. The ideal candidate has experience supporting communications related to labor relations, employee relations, or complex workforce issues, including work in union-represented environments, supporting a Positive People Relations philosophy, and is comfortable partnering with HR, Legal, and operational stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

GE HealthCare is a leading global healthcare solutions provider of advanced medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and AI, cloud and software solutions that help clinicians tackle the world’s most complex diseases. With approximately 54,000 colleagues worldwide, GE HealthCare is united by a shared purpose: to create a world where healthcare has no limits.

    Job Description

    Roles & Responsibilities:

This role focuses primarily on labor and colleague relations communications while also supporting broader communications priorities across the Colleague Communications team as business needs arise.

    Labor and colleague relations communications

    • Partner closely with Labor Relations, HR, Legal, and site leadership to develop clear, thoughtful communications that help leaders and colleagues understand relevant processes, updates, and resources.
    • Support proactive communications planning related to union- and non-union represented populations and labor-related processes, including times of increased employee engagement or contract-related milestones, ensuring information is clear, consistent, and aligned with company policies and agreements.
    • Provide communications support for labor and colleague relations initiatives, updates or events as needed, including during sensitive or high-visibility labor situations, applying strong judgment, message discipline, and alignment with legal and labor relations guidance.
    • Develop communications materials including leader toolkits, talking points, FAQs, and internal updates that help ensure consistent messaging across teams and locations.
    • Help ensure communications are balanced, accurate, and aligned with GE HealthCare’s culture and commitment to a respectful workplace.

Strategic communications support and special projects

    • During periods when labor and colleague relations communications needs are lower or increased activity across other initiatives, lead or support broader communications priorities across the Colleague Communications team.
    • Contribute to strategic communications initiatives, campaigns, or special projects that support enterprise priorities and colleague engagement.

Across all areas, this role will:

    • Serve as a strategic internal communications partner, building strong, productive relationships with business leaders and stakeholders across the company.
    • Develop clear, thoughtful communications approaches that help leaders and colleagues understand complex topics, processes, and updates.
    • Apply sound judgment and independent thinking to manage complex communications needs and competing priorities, particularly in environments requiring precision, consistency, and heightened stakeholder sensitivity.
    • Execute with a high level of precision, professionalism, discretion, and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or related field.

    • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, as needed.

    Desired qualifications:

    • Experience advising leaders during complex labor or workforce-related situations, with an understanding of how communications can influence trust, stability, and outcomes.
    • Strong executive presence with experience working across multiple levels, functions, and regions in a matrixed global organization; highly collaborative mindset and strong sense of ownership.
    • Experience developing communications strategies, plans, or engagement calendars for complex initiatives; able to gather and incorporate multiple viewpoints and priorities to establish a clear communications approach.
    • Ability to understand business challenges and priorities and use communications expertise to recommend effective approaches and inform decision making.
    • Ability to communicate complex or nuanced information in a clear, balanced, and compelling manner, both written and verbally.
    • Ability to manage multifaceted projects and deliverables autonomously with strong attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
