    The Workers’ Compensation Team Leader leads a specialized team focused on early identification and timely resolution of settlement‑ready claims. This role is responsible for improving resolution time, settlement quality, and consistency while managing loss costs within budget guidelines and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and all regulatory requirements. The Team Leader drives performance through strong leadership, coaching, and strategic oversight.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and coach a team to achieve business goals and high‑quality claim outcomes.
    • Ensure accurate exposure evaluation and timely reserve setting.
    • Apply loss cost containment strategies consistently and effectively.
    • Manage litigation and resolution strategies for settlement‑ready claims.
    • Build strong relationships with underwriting partners and customers.
    • Promote accountability, succession planning, and a diverse, inclusive team culture.
    • Use customer feedback to drive service and process improvements.

    Qualifications

    • California Claims Adjuster License strongly preferred (must obtain if not licensed).
    • Strong workers’ compensation technical expertise; ability to oversee multi‑state claims.
    • CPCU, CIC, SCLA, or similar designation preferred (or in progress).
    • Demonstrated history of consistent high performance and achievement throughout career.

    Work Arrangement

    This position offers a Hybrid or Remote work schedule:

    • Candidates located near one of the company’s office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday).
    • Candidates who do not live near an office location may work fully Remote, with occasional in-office presence as business needs require.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $86,400 - $129,600
