    The Opportunity

    As a Field Service Engineer in Abbott’s Vascular Division, you will ensure the performance and reliability of advanced systems like Coroflow and OPTIS by installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment that supports patient care.

    You’ll serve as a key technical expert, providing high-quality service and training to healthcare professionals while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver passionate about medical technology and service excellence.

    This opportunity is a full-time, permanent position open to candidates based anywhere in the Greater Toronto Region, Ontario, working remotely.

    Responsibilities:

    The Field Service Engineer performs installations, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance of Abbott’s Vascular Division instrumentation.

    • Perform technology installation, configuration, connectivity, calibration, safety/functional testing emergency repair, preventative maintenance, and product updates at customer site of the Vascular product lines.

    • Provides in-service training to clinicians on the use of Abbott Vascular technology platforms and accessories, primarily Coroflow and OPTIS systems.

    • Establish and sustain active communication link with CSC personnel, and provide daily support for all territories as required.

    • Provide comprehensive support for the sales organization’s efforts to include - but not limited to - repair and maintenance of demonstration equipment.

    • Perform modification and engineering updates at customer site.

    • Adhere to operating procedures.

    • Manage assigned spare parts at the appropriate inventory levels. Manage TSS Kits and individual spare parts inventory.

    • Performs field services by work order assignment in an efficient and professional manner, reporting and maintaining all service documentation and test results/findings in a service database in accordance with Abbott policies and procedures.

    • Create and perform Customer Service Business reviews as required.

    • Recommend performance improvement strategies for territory.

    • Communicate with Sales Rep any concerns or recommendations.

    • Develop Achieving Service Excellence.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Biology or Chemistry) is required.

    • 1 to 3 years of experience in an electrophysiology or cardiology lab.

    • Demonstrated familiarity with cardiac catheterization lab procedures and protocols.

    • Ability to understand and comply with company policies and applicable industry laws and regulations - Personal computing skills with ability to perform word processing/spreadsheet tasks to perform documentation, presentation, and analysis activities.

    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse cross-functional team environment.

    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in a preceptor role.

    • Travel up to 75%.

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.

    • Demonstrated familiarity with electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab procedures and protocols.

    • Experience with integration and networking a plus.

    Compensation:

    68, 250 $ - 100,100 $
