As a Director at CrossCountry Consulting you will be responsible for a mix of client delivery, business development, leading teams and developing junior team members, as well as serving as a member of CrossCountry’s leadership team.
In today’s competitive deal market, Private Equity is increasingly turning to operational enhancements as a driver for value creation in their investment portfolio. It is essential for Private Equity funds to have a portfolio support team, either internally or externally, to guide CFO’s as they build a scalable accounting and finance function that supports the investment thesis. We are experienced operators, who serve as an extension of leading Private Equity sponsors to drive meaningful and sustainable operational changes across their portfolios.
What You'll Do
Client Delivery: Lead the development and delivery of services
Serve clients within the “Office of the CFO” at Private Equity portfolio companies, creating a diagnostic framework and enhancing the effectiveness of the finance function.
Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company representatives and Private Equity sponsors, collaborating with CrossCountry team members to scope, clarify, and deliver excellent client service.
Identify new growth and shared revenue opportunities, collaborating with leadership to help expand the FP&A capability offering.
Practice Leadership: Serve as a key leader in the Practice Equity practice by:
Overseeing end-to-end delivery of FP&A engagements including scoping, staffing, client communication and quality control.
Providing strategic thought leadership and engagement oversight across concurrent engagements that may include:
Forecasting and budgeting redesign
Cash flow and liquidity management
Peformance reporting and KPI frameworks
Interim FP&A support roles
Finance function diagnostics
Developing and enhance repeatable delivery ‘playbooks’, templates, tools and methodologies to help scale practice.
Identifying key industry developments and trends and articulating potential impact on clients.
Contributing to developing and implementing firm-approved, AI-enabled solutions for clients, in accordance with company policies on data protection, intellectual property, and professional standards.
Staying informed about emerging AI tools and techniques and collaborating with firm leadership to identify compliant opportunities to enhance client solutions and internal processes.
Leading coaching family by serving as a role model, coach, mentor, and liaison to the leadership team.
What You'll Bring:
10+ years of senior FP&A and/or consulting experience, with significant exposure to middle-market Private Equity owned businesses.
Experience addressing the unique requirements of the Private Equity consulting environment including knowledge about the relationship between Private Equity sponsors and their portfolio companies.
Experience building, mentoring, and setting standards for high-performing FP&A teams.
Diverse industry experience that may include manufacturing, SaaS, healthcare, and business services among others.
Strong understanding of cash flow dynamics, debt structures & covenant reporting, value creation plans and exit and diligence processes.
Advanced financial modeling skills paired with judgement to keep models practical and decision focused.
Knowledge and proficiency in leading and implementing best practices to optimize finance functions.
Knowledge of key technology solutions within the Office of the CFO, including leading ERP and EPM platforms.
Experience with or significant exposure to various data analytics tools such as: Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, Snowflake, SQL, Python, etc.
Comfort with AI: Demonstrated ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation.
Continuous Learning Mindset: Openness to learning and applying emerging technologies including AI and automation in alignment with firm policies and client standards.
Proven ability to generate leads from a network outside of existing client work.
Experience mentoring and developing junior team members and helping project teams resolve multi-faceted issues.
Provides customized finance, accounting, human capital management, risk, operations and technology consulting services to leading organizations facing complex change.
