About the role
We are seeking a creative and trend-savvy Social Media Content Specialist to grow brand awareness, engagement, and community presence across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. This role executes day-to-day social media activities, manages content production, works with partners to create engaging short-form content, and identifies emerging trends that strengthen Study.com's connection with consumers. In this role you will collaborate with a team of internal Social Media Content Specialists as well as social media talent to create high valued content for our communities at scale.
The ideal candidate combines strong social media skills with a data-driven approach to social media marketing. You'll develop and publish compelling social content, collaborate with creators and customers, and capitalize on real-time trends to maximize reach and engagement. Success requires hands-on experience producing quality social media content at scale, deep knowledge of social platform best practices, and the ability to balance creative storytelling with measurable business results — leveraging AI for support across content ideation, partner identification, content editing, and analysis.
This is a full-time contract position. You will be expected to work during Study.com's Pacific Time business hours Monday through Friday. Additionally, you will use your own computer and have reliable access to high-speed internet.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate social media talent across and coach up-and-coming creators, ensuring that talent contracting is optimized across our owned channels according to each channel's strategy and the talent's niche.
- Execute tailored social media strategies for a portfolio of Study.com's owned channels.
- Partner with creators and customers on content strategy, and support them with production where needed —while leaning on their creative strengths in scripting and editing as much as possible.
- Identify influential partners in each vertical and pitch partnerships and custom content series.
- Monitor engagement, analyze performance across all brands, and report out with insights and recommendations.
- Manage social media assets and cross-post to extend reach and ensure Study.com is highly visible for key topics and business categories.
- Spot emerging trends — viral audio, formats, memes — and pitch actionable ideas with a clear hypothesis, running an experimentation backlog to find winning, repeatable formats.
- Run community management on your channels: respond, engage, and build community around the content.
- Create quick-turn content (b-roll, quick edits, photo) for fast turnaround, and draft clear creative briefs with internal and external partners to produce high-quality brand assets.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years managing brand social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) in a brand, agency, or creator setting.
- Deep, current fluency in TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — formats, algorithms, trends, and performance analytics.
- A creative and analytical mindset that balances aesthetic storytelling with data-driven decisions to grow reach, impressions, and engagement.
- Hands-on experience with AI social media tools like Claude and ChatGPT — not just familiarity.
- Strong talent- and relationship-coordination skills, and clear written communication with a bias for fast, high-volume execution.
- Hands-on ability to shoot, edit, and produce short-form video with native and mobile tools (CapCut, native platform editors, or AI tooling).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience running social media for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands.
