    The Principal Engineer, Network Security is a senior technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the organization’s global network security platforms. This role ensures the scalability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure including firewall platforms, network access control, remote access, and Zero Trust capabilities. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), this role provides strategic direction, technical leadership, and architectural guidance across all phases of the network lifecycle. The Principal Engineer works cross-functionally to align network security solutions with enterprise IT strategy, cybersecurity policy, and business requirements while driving continuous improvement and innovation.

    What you will do:

    • Lead the design and architecture of complex network security solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance with enterprise standards
    • Define and evolve network security reference architectures, standards, and patterns across:
      • Perimeter security (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)
      • Network Access Control (Cisco ISE, Forescout)
      • Remote access/VPN (GlobalProtect)
      • Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
    • Translate business and cybersecurity requirements into secure, resilient network solutions
    • Provide technical leadership and direction for network security engineering and operations teams
    • Act as SME for all network security capabilities, influencing strategic decisions and roadmap development
    • Drive the adoption and operationalization of Zero Trust principles across network services
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies and industry trends
    • Lead and participate in all phases of the project lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, and optimization)

    What you need:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in technology related discipline or in lieu of a degree, 6 years of additional work experience
    • 8+ years of experience in IT and Network Engineering, with a focus on designing, implementing, and supporting large organizations and/or global teams
    • Strong experience with incident response, threat mitigation, and security architecture
    • Proven experience designing and supporting large-scale network security solutions across multiple regions
    • Deep expertise in:
      • Firewall platforms (Palo Alto preferred)
      • Network Access Control (ISE, Forescout)
      • VPN and remote access technologies
      • Zero Trust concepts and implementation models
      • Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing)

    Preferred:

    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal, communication skills with ability to present ideas effectively both in-person and remotely
    • Self-motivated, able to work effectively as part of a cross functional team to resolve business critical issues
    • Ability to deliver exceptional results under pressure, while working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
    • Excellent technical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple technology disciplines
