    Hourly: $22.00 - $28.34

    Position Summary

    The HRSC Specialist I, HR Operations is an integral member of the HRSC Operations Team, which provides frontline support in the areas of HR compliance, data integrity across HR systems, operational processes such as staffing events (i.e. hires, job changes, data changes, etc.), personnel file maintenance, and general administrative HR support on tasks and inquiries related to HR Operations processes and documentation. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of HR data, providing excellent service to employees, and supporting HR processes efficiently and effectively.     Essential Functions:

    • Supports HR compliance efforts by assisting in regular audits and facilitating appropriate corrections, in adherence with federal, state, local, and institutional HR policies and regulations.
    • Assists with resolving compliance-related issues based on guidance provided by HR leadership and/or legal teams.
    • Stays updated on changes in labor laws and regulations and adheres to updates.
    • Assists with the adherence to HR policies and procedures.
    • Performs data entry tasks related to HR records and employee lifecycle events accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner, and in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
    • Assists in maintaining and organizing accurate and complete HR data and records in NU’s HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other HR-related systems.
    • Assists with performing regular data quality checks to ensure the integrity of data. Performs corrections or other data changes as necessary.
    • Provides administrative support for HR processes and documentation.
    • Collaborates with team members to ensure efficient and inclusive HR practices.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Education & Experience:

    • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in HR or HR Operations required.
    • Associate’s degree preferred.

    Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:

    • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in completing tasks, reviewing work, and managing data. Identifies inconsistencies or errors and takes appropriate corrective action to ensure quality outcomes.
    • Maintains accurate, consistent, and reliable data across systems and records. Follows established protocols for data entry, validation, and updates to ensure information is complete and trustworthy.
    • Provides responsive, professional, and solution-oriented support to internal and external stakeholders. Communicates clearly, handles inquiries effectively, and ensures a positive user experience.
    • Possesses working knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (Workday), and demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to support daily tasks and reporting needs.
    • Accurately inputs, updates, and maintains employee and organizational data. Organizes records systematically to ensure accessibility, compliance, and audit readiness.
    • Handles sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of professionalism. Adheres to privacy standards and organizational policies to protect employee and institutional data.
    • Demonstrates foundational understanding of human resources policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Applies this knowledge to ensure compliance and support consistent HR practices.
    • Possesses strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
