    Role Description

The Construction Project Engineer will play a meaningful role in developing the EV charging infrastructure that powers the transition to electrified transport. Working closely with Senior Construction Project Managers, Project Managers, Development Managers, Real Estate and Utility teams, you will support site development campaigns and advanced development & construction activities across a portfolio of select sites. This includes permitting, utility interconnection, engineering and design, and construction contractor engagement.

You bring a foundational background in engineering, construction management, or site development — and you're eager to grow it. You think critically, communicate clearly, and can move fluidly between quantitative analysis and external stakeholder engagement. You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

In this role, you will develop proficiency in project controls tools including Procore and Smartsheets, supporting Senior PMs in the management of project schedules, budgets, and reporting. As you build expertise, you will take on increasing ownership and grow alongside a team committed to delivering world-class EV charging solutions for fleet and heavy-duty truck operators nationwide.

  2. Identify and help address potential issues and manage tasks to advance site development activities

  3. Research and evaluate site-specific information necessary to achieve project development goals, including market conditions, site constraints, and feasibility inputs

  4. Identify project constraints and support the development of mitigation solutions

  5. Analyze various elements required to deliver a viable site and contribute to schedule recommendations for completion timelines

  6. Prepare and provide site documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders

  7. Support the breakdown of projects into achievable tasks and assist in managing schedules and workflows

  8. Schedule regular meetings and maintain accurate records and decisions through meeting notes

  9. Support quality assurance by ensuring deliverables meet Terawatt’s standards

  10. Participate in expense management and reporting processes

  11. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across Development, Business Development, Product, Energy & Utilities, Technology, Site Operations, and Finance teams.

  12. Serve as an advocate for the electrification of transport and Terawatt’s role in making it happen

  13. Travel as needed (anticipated to be under 30%) to project sites for consultation, progress updates, and issue resolution.

  14. Minimum Qualifications
  15. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  16. 2+ years of experience in construction, project management or site development.

  17. Foundational understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and documentation

  18. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

  19. Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

  20. Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheets and Google Workspace

  21. Preferred Qualifications
  22. Experience with Procore for construction project management

  23. Exposure to permitting, utility interconnection, or site development processes

  24. Basic understanding of electrical, civil, or construction systems

  25. Interest in or experience with EV, energy storage, or renewable energy infrastructure

  26. We are building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. At Terawatt, we continuously strive to foster inclusion, humility, energizing relationships, and belonging, and welcome new ideas. We're growing and want you to grow with us.
