    The Opportunity

    The Infrastructure Services Engineer III will deliver new services and solutions, implement complex configurations, and work on specialized projects requiring advanced training and experience. Incumbent will support ESS technology directives based on industry best practices to stabilize, standardize, manage, update, and secure Juniper/Velera’s core infrastructure services.

    Day in the Life

    • Implement and maintain critical systems, provide recommendations for changes and enhancements, and perform duties support and maintain implementation of solutions that meet ESS/ITS and Juniper/Velera requirements.

    • Design, install, configure, monitor, and/or maintain network applications with could include the use of VMware Hypervisor, Microsoft, Red Hat, Cisco Networking and Telephony infrastructure.

    • Provide technical insight and serve as both guide and implementation specialist in support of current technical dependencies and new, long-range strategic system design and development.

    • Conduct system/environment needs assessments, including analysis, design, vendor research, and comparisons.

    • Identify opportunities through new technological advancements and provide recommendations to management.

    • Utilize electronic software distribution and system management tools to anticipate, identify, and quickly resolve technical issues that affect system availability.

    • Accurately diagnose and correct common-to-advanced system issues, and work to rapidly restore affected services.

    • Develop and maintain proper documentation for all system configurations; Follow established change control procedures for all system configuration changes.

    • Provide advanced technical support and training to operational staff in complex system projects and configurations.

    • Remain current on Information Technologies advances through professional groups, trade publications, and personal contacts; participate in testing and implementation of new technologies.

    • Assist as needed in preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on file servers, operating systems, sub-systems, and applications.

    • Partner with Information Security team to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide security functions and practices related to assigned area of responsibility.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Industry recognized engineering certification (Microsoft, Cisco, Red Hat, Security, VMware) preferred. 

    • Five (5) years of progressively responsible IT experience required.

    • Three (3) years of a core technology specific to Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, or Cisco experience required.

    • Experience supporting and working a large-scale distributed network (1700+ servers and 1200+ managed end-point devices) strongly preferred. 

    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to help standardize and automate server set up - Ansible and Terraform preferred.

    System Engineering experience:

    • Advanced-level familiarity with ADDS, ADFS, DFSR, ADCS, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, Group Policy, VPN services, RDP, Windows Server Core and PowerShell, Linux, Satellite.
    • Advance-level familiarity with Hypervisor technologies such as VMware and/or Hyper-V. Experience with multi-site, High Availability implementations using latest automated deployment scripting.
    • Systems management and administration (applying fixes, loading the OS, creating “Gold” images, resolving system problems, and opening tickets / working with vendors to resolve issues)
    • Ability to plan, install, and integrate software packages (OEM, OS); Proven ability to plan, install, and integrate software packages (OEM, OS)
    • Familiarity with system backup and recovery practices, principles, applications, and mechanisms; Knowledge of various storage and file systems: SAN, NAS - CIFS, NFS, and iSCSI
    • Experience with Automation and Scripting using programs such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
    • Experience managing an Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) implementation

    Network Experience:

    • Advanced-level familiarity routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF and other technologies that support High Availability and Network Resiliency. Experience with IPSEC, SSL VPN, DMVPN, and RSA Multi-Factor.
    • Experience with Data Center Network Technologies that could include Nexus Platform, Software Defined Networking, Catalyst Switching and Routing, ACI, NSX, and storage level fiber channel switching.
    • Experience in Network Security technologies such as Firewalling, IDS/IPS, Proxy, Application Level/Next Generation Firewalls, Identity Access Management, Web Application Firewalls, and access controls.
    • Experience with Load Balancer technology such as F5, Citrix, or Cisco. Configuration and implementation of Application and DNS level load balancing as well of SSL Offloading technologies

    Pay Equity

    $84,900.00 - $108,200.00

    Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
