    You'll contribute to delivering excellent service for sophisticated analytical and scientific instruments. Working with customers across research, industrial, and healthcare settings, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment while providing exceptional customer service.     Location

    This is a remote role based in the SF Bay Area, CA and will require up to 75% travel within the designated territory.  Please note that relocation assistance is not provided.

    A Day in the Life

    • Perform on-site installation and preventive maintenance of Chromatography and Mass Spectrometer equipment at customer labs
    • Handle personal parts inventories, complete job tasks and complete service reports using service ticket management software
    • Train customers in equipment and software
    • Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer
    • Regularly attend factory provided technical and service training on newest innovative products developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific
    • Must be team focused while working in conjunction with Service and Sales teams
    • Review customer data and run factory protocols to troubleshoot instrumentation
    • Share diagnostic information with engineering, factory, field service, management, and other personnel to expedite repairs

    Keys to Success

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field and 2+ years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing complex analytical instruments or Advanced degree

    Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose issues down to component level
    • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
    • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment preferred
    • Experience documenting service activities and preparing detailed reports
    • Ability to effectively train and support customers with equipment operation
    • Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
    • Demonstrated success in meeting customer satisfaction goals
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and service management software
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various laboratory environments

    • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen

    Compensation and Benefits

    The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $34.61–$46.15.
