    About the Role

CaptivateIQ is looking for a Senior Manager of Product Design to lead design for our Product Platform — the shared capabilities that products across CaptivateIQ build on.

You'll lead a team responsible for making these capabilities feel like one coherent, trustworthy system rather than a collection of tools. Because platform decisions often affect multiple products and teams, this role requires strong systems thinking, design judgment, and the ability to drive decisions across organizational boundaries.

This is a player-coach role. You'll lead a team of product designers while staying close to the work, personally shaping high-leverage problems and setting the quality bar.

You'll report to the Head of Design and partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership on the strategy and evolution of CaptivateIQ's platform.

    What You'll Own

You'll lead design for Product Platform — the shared experiences that make CaptivateIQ work as one connected system. This includes how customers navigate the product, manage access and data, move through workflows, understand what's happening, and interact with shared capabilities like reporting, AI, and our design system, Quotient.

You'll lead a team of designers who own these areas deeply while staying hands-on yourself. As a player-coach, you'll personally take on high-impact problems where your experience and judgment can make the biggest difference.

Your job is to set the direction, maintain a high quality bar, and make sure the pieces work together as the platform grows.

    What You'll Do
  1. Lead, coach, and grow a team of product designers, including senior ICs.

  2. Set the design strategy and quality bar for Product Platform in partnership with Product and Engineering.

  3. Operate as a player-coach, personally shaping high-leverage or ambiguous problems while enabling your designers to own their domains.

  4. Establish and maintain a high bar for interaction and visual design across complex, systems-heavy product surfaces.

  5. Bring systems thinking to platform decisions, identifying cross-product implications and opportunities for shared patterns.

  6. Represent Design in roadmap, prioritization, and architectural conversations.

  7. Build alignment and drive decisions across teams through influence rather than direct authority.

  8. Use research, product data, and customer signals to inform platform strategy and validate decisions.

  9. Drive the adoption and evolution of Quotient as the shared design system across CaptivateIQ.

  10. Champion AI-native product thinking and AI-assisted design practices across the team.

  11. What You'll Bring
  12. 8+ years of product design experience, including experience with complex, systems-level, platform, or infrastructure-adjacent products.

  13. 3+ years managing product designers, including senior-level ICs, with a track record of growing designers into greater scope and responsibility.

  14. A portfolio demonstrating strong product craft, systems thinking, and the ability to simplify technically complex experiences.

  15. Strong visual and interaction design judgment, with experience setting a quality bar across a team.

  16. Experience setting design strategy across interconnected product areas.

  17. Experience building, evolving, or governing a design system.

  18. Strong cross-functional leadership and a track record of influencing Product and Engineering decisions.

  19. Technical fluency to engage meaningfully with Engineering on architecture, data models, and platform constraints, and translate those constraints into product decisions.

  20. Fluency in how AI is changing both product experiences and design practice.

  21. Experience designing complex B2B SaaS or enterprise products is a strong plus.

  22. What Success Looks Like
  23. Product Platform delivers a consistent, high-quality experience across products, workflows, and shared capabilities.

  24. Shared platform patterns improve consistency and help product teams move faster.

  25. Product and Engineering leaders treat Design as a strategic partner in defining problems and making decisions.

  26. Designers on your team grow into larger problems, develop stronger judgment, and produce excellent work.

  27. Cross-team design decisions reach clear outcomes even when ownership is distributed.

  28. Your own work and judgment help set the craft bar for the team.

  29. Why This Role Matters

Product Platform is the foundation that products across CaptivateIQ build on — and a major factor in whether CaptivateIQ feels like one coherent product or a collection of separate tools.

As a Senior Manager of Product Design, you'll lead the team responsible for that foundation. Your work will shape how our platform evolves, how quickly product teams can build on it, and how consistently customers experience CaptivateIQ.
