The Senior Director, Assets and Services Program, is responsible for the enterprise strategy, governance, and performance of US Foods Computerized Maintenance Management System and asset programs supporting a cold chain food distribution network. This role provides strategic leadership for Maximo (CMMS) implementation and operations, asset lifecycle management, service models, reliability strategies, safety, and capital optimization across facilities and equipment infrastructure.This position is virtual/remote which means the work can be completed from anywhere is the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Asset Strategy & Governance
Defines and owns CMMS strategy across facility operations network including implementation, training, operational sustainment, maintenance and data integrity.
Defines and owns the enterprise asset management strategy across facilities, material handling, utilities, dock systems, and services.
Establishes governance, standards, and decision frameworks for asset selection, lifecycle management, and replacement planning.
Ensures alignment of asset programs with operational needs, growth plans, and business strategy.
Leadership & Team Development
Leads, coaches, and develops Asset Program Managers, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance objectives.
Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety.
Builds organizational capability in asset management, analytics, and program execution.
Reliability, Safety & Compliance
Ensures asset programs meet or exceed regulatory, safety, and food safety requirements (OSHA, FDA, FSMA, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
Provides senior leadership oversight of risk management, audits, incident response, and corrective actions related to asset performance.
Champions asset reliability and resilience for mission-critical cold chain operations.
Capital Planning & Financial Stewardship
Owns enterprise asset-related capital planning, including long-range replacement strategies and annual capital prioritization.
Partners with Finance to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), return on investment (ROI), and operating expense performance.
Provides executive-level reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
Vendor, Contract & Service Strategy
Sets enterprise vendor and service strategies, including preferred suppliers, service models, and performance expectations.
Partners with Procurement on contract negotiations, SLAs, and vendor governance.
Drives accountability and continuous improvement with strategic partners.
Data, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Sponsors enterprise asset data, CMMS, and performance reporting capabilities.
Uses data and insights to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for standardization, cost reduction, and performance improvement.
Leads enterprise initiatives related to sustainability, energy optimization, and asset innovation.
Cross-Functional & Executive Partnership
Serves as a key advisor to senior leaders on asset-related risks, investments, and operational impacts.
Partners with Operations, Engineering, Safety, IT, and Supply Chain on new distribution center openings, expansions, and major retrofits.
Represents asset programs in enterprise planning, transformation, and growth initiatives.
SUPERVISION:
Manages a team of 5-7 exempt leaders including Sr Manager and Managers.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal Relationships: This role partners closely with Executive Leadership, Operations, Facilities & Engineering, Safety, Procurement, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure asset programs support safe, reliable, and scalable operations.
External Relationships: This role engages with strategic equipment manufacturers, service providers, utilities, engineering firms, and industry partners to shape enterprise asset strategies, manage risk, and drive innovation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remote: This role is remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a combined home-based and travel function.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of progressive experience in facilities, asset management, engineering, or operations within distribution, manufacturing, or cold chain environments.
5 years of people management experience.
Proven experience leading multi-site, enterprise asset strategies and capital programs.
Deep understanding of material handling, utilities, dock systems, and facilities services.
Experience implementing or governing enterprise CMMS or asset management platforms.
Track record of driving standardization, cost optimization, and reliability improvements at scale.
Strong executive communication, financial acumen, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Ability to travel to operating sites as needed.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Supply Chain, Operations or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in cold storage or freezer food distribution environments.
Experience supporting rapid growth, network expansion, or transformation initiatives.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
