Database Administrator
The Opportunity:
CACI’s Agile Digital Solutions Operating Group is expanding and seeks a Database Administrator to help modernize and transform a broad portfolio of enterprise business solutions for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
In this role, you will join a collaborative team where strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication are essential for success.
You will work with diverse platforms, applications, and infrastructure that span the entire Agency, engaging with both Enterprise Applications stakeholders and end-user communities.
The Database Administrator will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of database systems implemented in support of AAO applications.
The AAO database infrastructure consists of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates solid knowledge in database design, development and integration principles.
• Fundamental knowledge of database administration best practices and techniques.
• Experience supporting mission critical database management systems.
• Understanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database Administration.
• Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovery of enterprise database systems.
• Conceptual knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environment.
• Experience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting language.
• Must have good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skills.
• Effectively works in a team environment with other DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems; demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
• Schedule flexibility is required to support on-call DBA rotation and the ability to respond to trouble tickets within time required by SLAs.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Preferred experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL databases in single instance or clustered configurations.
• Experience configuring and supporting MS SQL Availability Groups (AGs), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), Oracle Data Guard, and MySQL master-slave replication.
• Demonstrated experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, MS T-SQL.
• Experience with client tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, MS SQL Workbench, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) are a plus.
• Knowledgeable in configuring Oracle Net Services.
• Experience in client/server applications design and development is a plus.
• Familiarity and/or experience with Oracle RMAN, DataPump, and Data Guard.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems on VMware.
• Understanding of database consolidation and virtualization concepts and best practices.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation.
Level 1:
• BA/BS + 2 years recent specialized or AA/AS + 2 years recent specialized or a major cert + 3 years recent specialized or 3 years of recent specialized experience.
• Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
• Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
• Experience working in VMware ESXi environments.
• Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions.
Level 2:
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
• 4-6 years Database Administrator experience.
• Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
• Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
• Experience working in VMware ESXi environments.
• Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions.
Level 3:
• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).
• 6-8 years Database Administrator experience.
• Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
• Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
• Experience working in VMware ESXi environments.
• Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
