    Job Description:

We are seeking a Director of Supplier Development to join our Supplier Performance Team. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new supplier and brand partnerships that drive long-term growth for the Johnson Brothers enterprise.

This position sits at the intersection of strategy, insights, and influence—leveraging category trends, consumer data, and market opportunities to shape portfolio growth. This role will also serve as a key storyteller for Johnson Brothers, translating our JB 101, Commercial Vision, and enterprise strategy into clear, compelling, and data-backed narratives that demonstrate how suppliers win within our system.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Prospect, identify, and develop relationships with new brands and suppliers aligned to enterprise growth priorities
    • Utilize category insights, market demographics, and consumer/shopper data to identify high-potential opportunities
    • Serve as the first corporate point of contact for new supplier inquiries, effectively vetting opportunities across markets
    • Lead new business opportunities through a defined Stage Gate process, evaluating strategic fit, scalability, and financial impact
    • Develop and deliver compelling, insight-driven presentations that translate JB 101, Commercial Vision, and strategic priorities into clear supplier value propositions
    • Use data and market insights to articulate where opportunities exist and how suppliers win within the Johnson Brothers system
    • Communicate effectively across markets and Commercial Leadership to align on new opportunities and priorities
    • Drive profitable, margin-accretive outcomes through disciplined portfolio expansion and decision-making
    • Lead and support onboarding of new brands and suppliers, including pricing, promotion frameworks, item setup, and data integration
    • Partner cross-functionally (PDS, Operations, Purchasing, Sales, Finance) to ensure seamless execution and alignment
    • Act as a conduit between suppliers and local markets to ensure clarity, alignment, and execution consistency
    • Drive performance and growth of incubator brands through execution and expansion into additional markets
    • Support development of contractual safeguards during new supplier onboarding

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Support Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for new and existing suppliers
    • Assist in the corporate management of key supplier partners
    • Contribute to annual business planning, performance management, and risk mitigation
    • Conduct profitability analysis and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Champion a data-driven approach to decision-making and execution
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 5+ years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry
    • Experience in brand or supplier management preferred
    • Strong ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and business recommendations
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence senior leadership and external partners
    • Proven ability to build compelling narratives that connect strategy, insights, and execution
    • Strong organizational skills with a high sense of urgency and proactive planning mindset
    • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and lead change
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

The expected pay range for this role is $100K - $150K. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
