    The Job

As Controller, you'll drive the vision for Omnidian's accounting function and build the infrastructure that scales with us through our next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, a founding member of F Suite who is passionate about strong leadership teams and development, you'll join a broader network of senior leadership focused on your growth. You'll own the function end-to-end, interfacing daily with the CFO, FP&A, Engineering, Legal, and business leaders across Sales, Product, and Operations, while leading and developing a team of 4–8, including the Assistant Controller.

    What You’ll Do

At Omnidian we believe in trust and autonomy. How you create an impact is ultimately up to you. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing:

    Financial Reporting & Close (30%)

  1. Shape technical accounting positions as our business evolves
  2. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across our US and Australian entities
  3. Own consolidated financial statements under US GAAP, including intercompany eliminations and multi-currency consolidation
  4. Deliver timely, reliable reporting to the CFO, Board, and investors
  5. Audit, Compliance & Controls (25%)

  6. Own the external audit relationship, driving clean, on-time completions across jurisdictions
  7. Build audit-ready infrastructure that positions us well for whatever's next — M&A, a PE recapitalization, a debt raise, or an IPO
  8. Manage sales, use, and property tax compliance across multiple states and internationally
  9. Ensure compliance with bank covenants and investor reporting requirements
  10. Systems & AI Enablement (20%)
  11. Bring genuine curiosity to reducing manual effort and increasing analytical value across the close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows
  12. Lead the accounting technology roadmap — optimizing NetSuite, evaluating AI-native tools, and building automation into the close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
  13. Partner with FP&A, Engineering, and Operations on cross-functional system integration.
  14. Team & Cross-Functional Leadership (25%)

  15. Own the vision for your team, growing and developing your people, including the Assistant Controller, into a high-performing, accountable group
  16. Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders, translating accounting realities into clear, actionable guidance
  17. Partner with the CFO on M&A, debt financing, tax strategy, and investor relations
  18. Collaborate with external tax advisors on provisions, filings, and strategic tax planning
  19. Explore exciting opportunities to grow the function internationally as Omnidian expands
  20. Who You Are
  21. You are technically excellent, build genuine relationships across the business, and see accounting not as a reporting function but as a strategic enabler of growth.
  22. A systems thinker who builds for scale, not just for today
  23. A relationship builder who earns trust with business partners through rigor and accessibility
  24. You embrace AI and new methods as a genuine competitive advantage
  25. Direct, urgent, and able to translate technical accounting complexity into clear decisions for non-accounting leaders
  26. Energized by ownership and autonomy — you want to build something, run it, and lead a team that's proud of what Accounting stands for
  27. Experience You'll Need
  28. 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
  29. Strong US GAAP expertise: consolidations, intercompany transactions, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and international subsidiary accounting
  30. A track record of building systems that scale in a high-growth, multi-entity environment
  31. Experience managing and developing accounting teams
  32. Active CPA license
  33. Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
  34. Experience That's a Plus
  35. Experience at a Series B–D company that went through a significant transaction — M&A, PE investment, debt raise, IPO, or similar — and understands what transaction-ready books actually require under due diligence conditions.
  36. Background in service-based, field operations, or tech-enabled service businesses (electrical contractors, field service, SaaS, or similar)
  37. Experience in clean energy, renewables, or sustainability-focused businesses.
  38. Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation in accounting workflows — not theoretical, but actually implemented.
  39. Audit experience in a Big 4 or national firm environment.
  40. International accounting experience (Australia or other English-speaking jurisdictions a plus).
