With our three market leading businesses, world-class operations and investments in research and development, we offer capabilities and opportunity no one else can. We deliver solutions that help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression, creating a safer, more secure world. Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Manager, Learning & Development Solutions. This is an individual contributor role with significant cross-functional influence.

    What You Will Do

    • In your first year, success looks like: stakeholders who trust you, programs running well, and a track record of identifying and implementing the right solutions quickly.
    • Identify Opportunities and Design Solutions
    • Assess learning and development needs across the organization; diagnose root causes and determine whether the right solution is a new program, an existing resource, a vendor partnership, or a scaled RTX enterprise offering
    • Apply critical thinking to build solutions that are practical, scalable, and cost-effective — not over-engineered for the problem at hand
    • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear development priorities and actionable plans
    • Own Program Delivery and Operations
    • Take end-to-end accountability for L&D programs — spanning leader development, all-employee skills-based learning, and / or career development — with the portfolio evolving as strategy matures
    • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and delivery quality; coordinate with RTX enterprise partners to leverage and layer on existing platforms rather than duplicate them
    • Coordinate learning forums and councils — own the preparation, coordination, and follow-through
    • Drive Projects Forward
    • Build and manage project plans across multiple concurrent initiatives; track milestones, surface risks early, and keep work moving
    • Produce clear, executive-ready materials — presentations, briefings, strategy documents — that communicate complex ideas simply and persuasively
    • Manage components of learning operations including LMS coordination (Workday Learning), scheduling, and reporting
    • Navigate and Influence
    • Build credibility and relationships quickly across HR, business leaders, and RTX enterprise teams
    • Communicate effectively at every level, adjusting style and depth without losing substance
    • Support the L&D Lead in preparing for leadership conversations and driving key decisions forward
    • Improve Continuously
    • Identify what is and isn't working; bring concrete recommendations rather than observations
    • Incorporate feedback quickly and treat iteration as a normal and expected part of producing excellent work
    • Stay current on learning trends in aerospace and defense — AI-enabled learning, digital delivery, skills-based development — and bring relevant, practical insights to the team

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Typically Requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years of experience
    • Experience managing multiple complex, concurrent projects in a matrixed environment with a high bar for quality
    • Experience in consulting, Learning & Development, Talent Management, or a closely related field
    • Working experience in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

    Qualifications We Prefer

    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills — able to assess a situation, identify the most practical path forward, and act on it
    • Strong executive communication skills: written materials, presentations, and verbal updates that land clearly with senior audiences
    • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity — you can move forward without a complete picture, make sound judgement calls, and adjust quickly as priorities shift
    • Ability to build influence and credibility with senior leaders without formal authority
    • Consulting or professional services background — experience moving quickly across projects, managing stakeholders, and delivering polished work in fast-moving environments
    • Experience with Workday Learning or a comparable LMS platform
    • Familiarity with vendor management and learning program oversight
    • Experience evaluating build-vs-buy-vs-borrow decisions for learning solutions
    • MBA or Master's Degree in a related field
    • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or government contracting sectors
