    NIQ is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting to join our growing finance team. This individual will serve as the subject-matter expert along with managing and mentoring a team of hub accountants for accounting areas critical to our business including, but not limited to, internally-developed software (IDSW), property and equipment (i.e., fixed assets) and operating and finance leases. They will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing monthly / quarterly / annual close processes and supporting other complex accounting areas as NIQ continues its journey as a public company.  

     

    This position will report to the Assistant Global Corporate Controller. 

    Key Activities, Responsibilities and Deliverables 

    • Oversee the accounting for IDSW projects, including capitalization assessments, cost tracking and useful life evaluations 
    • Establish and maintain policies and controls for software development cost identification, classification and stage-based accounting 
    • Partner with Engineering, Product and IT to validate project statuses, upcoming releases and development milestones 
    • Oversee the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, asset tracking and disposals 
    • Maintain capitalization thresholds and policies to ensure consistent application across the Company 
    • Partner with Facilities and Procurement to ensure timely and accurate recording of asset additions and retirements 
    • Ensure fixed asset subledger integrity and oversee ongoing process improvements  
    • Oversee the accounting for operating and finance leases in compliance with ASC 842, including ROU asset and lease liability recognition, remeasurements and modifications 
    • Review new contracts and amendments to assess lease classification, embedded lease considerations and term assumptions 
    • Collaborate with Legal, Procurement and Facilities to ensure completeness of the lease population and timely capture of contract changes 
    • Maintain and enhance processes with lease administration systems and ensure accurate monthly reporting 
    • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for all assigned areas, adhering to strict deadlines 
    • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, rollforwards and flux analyses 
    • Support financial statement disclosure preparation related to IDSW, fixed assets and leases  
    • Support external audits, acting as the primary liaison for areas of responsibility  
    • Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), including documentation, control design and operating effectiveness  
    • Evaluate existing processes and drive automation, system enhancements and best practice workflows 
    • Support system integrations related to fixed assets, project accounting and lease management tools 
    • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal corporate accounting policies 
    • Manage and mentor a team of hub accountants, providing training, guidance and performance feedback 
    • Contribute to process-improvement initiatives (e.g., ERP enhancements) by leveraging technology that could automate or speed up internal processes  

    Qualifications 

    • IDSW projects, including capitalization assessments, cost tracking and useful life evaluations required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field. 
    • Certified Public Accountant 
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive relevant experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or within a medium to large international organization. 
    • Strong US GAAP knowledge, especially ASC 350-40 (software), ASC 360 (fixed assets) and ASC 842 (leases) 
    • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to operate independently; capable of engaging professionally across all levels. 
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment, with strong organizational and time management skills. 
    • Detail oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and analytical thinking. 
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment. 
    • Skilled at building relationships and working cross-functionally with various departments and levels of management. 
    • Experience with ERP and consolidation systems, preferably SAP or OneStream is a plus. 
    • Familiarity with lease accounting tools (Costar, Nakisa). 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities. 
    • Experience with US GAAP accounting, administration and analyses and SOX-compliant controls for multinational companies transacting in multiple currencies.
