Cloudera is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer in Test to own and deliver maintenance releases for Cloudera’s data platforms and ship hotfixes to customers. Exciting opportunity to gain experience working with Hadoop, understand big data use cases at world’s largest deployments of Hadoop, participate and contribute to the vibrant Apache Software Foundation community.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test you will…

• Drive Cloudera’s Data Platform’s maintenance releases (perform system test analysis, deliver backports and develop new patches).

• Debug system level deployment issues, root cause analysis, and resolve failures.

• Work with Java, Python on different components, on our test framework and automation tools.

• Gain a solid understanding and deep technical knowledge of Hadoop components across the Cloudera stack, which you can utilize in your daily tasks.

• Work on improving the internal infrastructure.

We are excited about you if you have…

• Relevant studies / BS or MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years development experience in at least 1 of the following languages: Java / Python 

• Development experience in Linux environments.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Experience (or demonstrated interest) in distributed computing or high availability systems is a plus.

You might also have…

• Big Data / NoSQL / distributed database experience

• Previous open source contribution

• Experience with test automation
