The candidate will collaborate with systems engineers, mission engineering teams, cybersecurity personnel, data engineers, and Palantir developers to integrate architectural models, operational data, and engineering artifacts into connected digital environments. The role requires strong systems engineering fundamentals, expertise in model-based methodologies, and the ability to translate operational requirements into structured architectures, data models, and actionable engineering insights supporting capability development, integration, and sustainment.

    Responsibilities:

    Systems Engineering & Architecture

    • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including System Requirements Specifications (SRS), Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Concepts of Operations (CONOPS).

    Requirements Engineering & Traceability

    • Support requirements development, analysis, decomposition, allocation, validation, and change management.
    • Establish and maintain bidirectional traceability among stakeholder needs, system requirements, architecture elements, interfaces, and verification artifacts.
    • Develop measurable, testable, and verifiable system and subsystem requirements.
    • Use requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
    • Maintain Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTM) and assess the technical impacts of requirements changes.
    • Support requirements reviews and technical baseline management.

    Model-Based Engineering, Analysis & Simulation

    • Develop and maintain system models to support engineering analysis, design decisions, and program execution.
    • Create functional, behavioral, structural, and parametric models to evaluate system performance and operational scenarios.
    • Apply MBSE methodologies to support trade studies, simulation, design alternatives, and technical risk assessments.
    • Support the definition and evaluation of Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), Measures of Performance (MOPs), Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
    • Integrate system models with simulation environments and other engineering analysis tools.
    • Ensure models remain aligned with approved requirements, architectures, and technical baselines.

    System Integration, Interfaces & Verification

    • Support system integration planning, interface definition, and interoperability assessments.
    • Develop and maintain interface requirements, interface definitions, and ICDs.
    • Collaborate with software, hardware, cybersecurity, and integration teams to identify and resolve technical dependencies.
    • Support verification and validation planning, test procedures, acceptance criteria, and system performance assessments.
    • Leverage system models to identify integration risks, evaluate system behavior, and support verification activities.
    • Participate in integration events, technical reviews, and system verification and validation activities.

    Digital Engineering & Model Management

    • Support the implementation of Digital Engineering methodologies, modeling standards, and best practices.
    • Maintain model configuration control, version management, and technical baseline integrity.
    • Support integration among MBSE tools, requirements repositories, simulation environments, and configuration management systems.
    • Establish and maintain digital traceability across engineering models and lifecycle artifacts.
    • Identify opportunities to improve engineering efficiency, model reuse, data consistency, and collaboration.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of authoritative engineering models and data.

    Technical Collaboration & Program Support

    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, assess, and refine system solutions.
    • Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), design reviews, engineering reviews, and program planning activities.
    • Communicate technical findings, architecture decisions, modeling results, and engineering recommendations to stakeholders and program leadership.
    • Support technical risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and engineering trade studies.
    • Independently execute assigned engineering tasks while coordinating with technical leads and program management.
    • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to engineering documentation, deliverables, and program reporting.
