We are seeking a technically exceptional and visionary Engineering Manager to lead the scale-up and deployment of our proprietary Glycine Leaching Technology (GLT) and other gold processing innovations. Based in South Africa, this full-time role is central to translating laboratory and pilot-scale breakthroughs into full-scale, commercially viable operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and successful project execution.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Lead the scale-up of gold leaching technologies from lab to pilot and full-scale operations.
    • Design and optimize metallurgical flowsheets tailored to various ore types.
    • Manage relationships with labs, engineering firms, and equipment vendors.
    • Oversee the development of process diagrams, equipment lists, and commissioning plans.
    • Direct on-site commissioning, ramp-up, and performance tracking.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including tailings and water management.
    • Act as the key liaison between technical teams, project partners, and clients.

    Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Process Engineering.
    • Experience: 15+ years in gold processing/metallurgy, including site-based roles and project delivery.
    • Expertise: Proven experience scaling up at least two gold processing technologies (e.g., CIL/CIP, flotation, SART, BIOX/POX).
    • Technical Depth: Strong foundation in comminution, flotation, carbon management, and reagent schemes.
    • Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with HAZOP, LOPA, ICMI Cyanide Code, and GISTM/ICMM standards.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Process Engineering & Flowsheet Design: Expertise in integrating unit operations and scaling up processes.
    • Metallurgical Expertise: Deep knowledge of cyanide and alternative lixiviants (e.g., glycine).
    • Circuit Design: Proficiency in comminution and flotation circuit optimization.
    • Commissioning & Operational Readiness: Experience leading commissioning and ramp-up activities.
    • Process Safety: Strong command of safety methodologies and regulatory frameworks.

    Leadership & Behavioral Competencies:

    • Strategic Thinking: Aligns technical solutions with business goals.
    • Collaborative Leadership: Builds strong cross-functional and external partnerships.
    • Results Orientation: Delivers high-impact outcomes on time and within budget.
    • Analytical Decision-Making: Translates complex data into actionable strategies.
    • Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
