    Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Solutions Architect with a strong engineering background, customer-facing communication skills, and a proven history of growing from hands-on development into architectural leadership. The ideal candidate has extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle, can operate in complex multi-cloud environments (with AWS as the primary cloud), and excels at guiding both customers and engineering teams toward scalable, secure, and modern technical solutions. This role requires continuous learning, adaptability, and the ability to unlearn outdated patterns as technologies evolve.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and own end-to-end architecture for enterprise-grade applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
    • Engage directly with customers to understand business needs, shape architectural vision, and present solution strategies.
    • Provide technical leadership across multiple teams; mentor and grow engineers in best practices and career development.
    • Drive architectural modernization efforts including microservices, cloud-native patterns, and DevOps practices.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, integration strategies, and long-term platform evolution.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption through prototypes, patterns, and reusable frameworks.
    • Ensure application scalability, reliability, performance, and security across the stack.
    • Lead design reviews, architecture boards, and technical governance processes.
    • Work across AWS services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, RDS, IAM) and advise on multi-cloud patterns (Azure/GCP as a bonus).
    • Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (Q Developer, Kiro, GitHub Copilot).

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 15+ years of related technical experience as outlined below:
    • Software Development: Strong foundation as a hands-on developer (any modern language such as Python, Java, TypeScript, Go).
    • Architecture: Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native applications.
    • APIs: Deep expertise in RESTful API design, system decomposition, idempotency, versioning, and integration patterns.
    • Cloud: Hands-on experience with AWS services including compute, storage, network, orchestration, and security. Multi-cloud familiarity is a plus.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated experience mentoring, leading, and scaling engineering teams.
    • Security: Understanding of authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, RBAC) and cloud security principles.
    • DevOps: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), orchestration (EKS/ECS), and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
    • Testing: Understanding of unit, integration, and performance testing for large-scale systems.
    • Experience presenting to executives, clients, or technical stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with microservices patterns, event-driven design, and message brokers.
    • Exposure to Terraform and/or CloudFormation, AWS CDK.
    • Understanding of frontend frameworks (React/Angular) for solution integration, not for day-to-day development.

    Certifications:

AWS Solutions Architect – Professional (Required)

    Location:

Remote (candidates in the DMV area will have the opportunity to work onsite 2x per month)

Clearance: Ability to pass a CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years in order to obtain a Public Trust.
