Job Description
This is a full-time salaried position with Project Farma, a PerkinElmer company. The successful candidate will reside in the Raleigh-Durham area, and be willing to travel domestically, to meet client project requests.
Role Summary
The Regional Vice President (RVP) is the senior executive responsible for the performance, growth, and operational excellence of a defined geographic region. The RVP operates as the firm’s regional general manager, holding full accountability for regional profit and loss performance, client delivery excellence, talent leadership, and revenue growth.
The RVP serves as the primary executive face of the firm within the region, developing strategic client relationships, leading major pursuits, and ensuring exceptional delivery across the regional project portfolio. The role combines commercial leadership, operational discipline, and talent stewardship to build a high-performing consulting organization capable of sustaining long-term growth.
The RVP operates within a matrix leadership model, partnering closely with practice leaders and corporate functions while maintaining accountability for regional business outcomes. While practices establish technical standards and capabilities, the RVP ensures these capabilities are effectively deployed to deliver outstanding client outcomes.
The role functions as a seller-doer executive, contributing directly to revenue generation while ensuring projects are delivered with the technical rigor and operational discipline expected of the firm. The RVP also plays a critical role in advancing the firm’s mission of helping clients achieve operational readiness and operational excellence across complex life sciences manufacturing environments.
The position currently oversees a regional organization of approximately 50 employees, with the expectation that the regional organization will scale toward 100 employees within the next two to three years.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional P&L Ownership and Operational Leadership
- Own full financial accountability for the region, including revenue, margin, utilization, realization, and regional operating costs
- Develop and execute the regional operating plan aligned with firmwide strategic priorities and the company’s growth objectives
- Drive disciplined resource planning to ensure the region maintains appropriate staffing levels while avoiding premature overhead
- Monitor regional KPIs including revenue growth, backlog coverage, utilization, and pipeline health
- Approve regional hiring decisions within governance guidelines, with final approval provided by the President
- Ensure operational discipline through consistent execution of firmwide systems, processes, and standard work practices
- Allocate resources strategically to maximize profitability, delivery quality, and long-term client value
- Provide regular financial and operational reporting to executive leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance trends
2. Client Delivery and Project Execution
- Billable Expectation: Approximately 434 billable hours annually (~10%)
- Ensure all projects within the region are delivered on time, on budget, and to the firm’s quality standards
- Serve as the senior escalation point for delivery risks, client concerns, and project performance issues
- Oversee staffing decisions for regional engagements in partnership with practice leaders within a matrix operating model
- Ensure that practice standards and methodologies are consistently applied across all regional projects
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews to monitor project health, delivery quality, and financial performance
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and reinforcing operational discipline across the delivery organization
- Ensure regional delivery teams consistently help clients achieve operational readiness for new and existing manufacturing assets
3. Business Development and Revenue Growth
- Drive regional revenue growth through new client acquisition, account expansion, and service-line cross-selling
- Personally engage in strategic pursuits and executive-level bid defenses for key regional opportunities
- Develop and maintain senior executive relationships with strategic clients
- Partner with the VP of Client Engagement and commercial leadership to align regional growth strategy with firmwide account strategies
- Collaborate with the VP of Client Solutions to convert pipeline into awarded work and ensure seamless transition from pursuit to delivery
- Represent the firm at industry events, client engagements, and professional forums to build brand recognition and market credibility
- Maintain active participation in the regional pipeline to ensure visibility into future demand and staffing requirements
4. Talent Leadership and Organizational Development
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing consulting talent across the region
- Directly lead regional operational staff and consulting personnel up through Market Director level
- Build a strong leadership bench capable of supporting continued regional expansion
- Establish a culture where excellence in client delivery, technical rigor, and professional development are the standard
- Conduct performance management with transparency and accountability, recognizing high performers and addressing performance gaps promptly
- Partner with HR on workforce planning, compensation decisions, onboarding, and leadership development
- Manage non-billable labor costs for regionally assigned personnel while ensuring adequate staffing for project delivery
- Promote collaboration across practices and service lines to maximize professional development and client value
5. Strategic Leadership and Firmwide Contribution
- Participate in enterprise strategic planning and quarterly business reviews as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Provide regional market intelligence regarding client trends, competitive dynamics, and talent conditions
- Champion firmwide initiatives within the region, ensuring consistent adoption of enterprise systems and governance standards
- Support the firm’s strategic objective of approximately 30% year-over-year growth
- Collaborate with corporate leadership to ensure regional expansion is aligned with long-term strategic priorities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
The RVP operates at the intersection of delivery, commercial, and technical leadership across the firm:
- Practice Vice Presidents and CTO
Practice leaders define technical standards, methodologies, and capability development. The RVP ensures these capabilities are effectively deployed across regional engagements and that practice standards are consistently executed. - VP, Client Engagement

Coordinate pursuit activity and ensure successful transition from sales to delivery. - Chief Solutions Officer and Principal Consultants
Principal Consultants report to the Chief Solutions Officer. The RVP collaborates with the CSO to deploy PCs on high-impact strategic engagements within the region. - HR and Finance
Partner on workforce planning, financial reporting, compensation, and organizational development.

Required Qualifications
- 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or technical consulting environments
- Demonstrated experience managing a regional P&L or equivalent general management responsibility
- Proven ability to lead high-performing professional services teams in regulated industries
- Strong executive-level client relationship and business development experience
- Deep understanding of professional services economics, including utilization management, margin control, pipeline management, and resource planning
- Experience across multiple life sciences consulting domains such as CQV, quality and regulatory, MSAT, asset management, project delivery, or human performance consulting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational development skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Frequent regional travel; periodic national travel
