Sentara Health is hiring an Academic Affairs Education Specialist for our Academic Affairs Clinical Education department.
This position is remote full-time 40 hours per week in Virginia with some travel to Virginia Beach, VA and local schools.
Requirements:
3 years related experience
3 years of Healthcare, academic admissions, business administration (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
This role supports education operations by coordinating student placements and onboarding requirements, managing scheduling needs, and serving as the primary contact for student related inquiries. It collaborates with academic partners and internal teams to ensure compliant, efficient processes, assists with maintaining affiliation agreements in coordination with Legal and Risk, and helps integrate learners into the workplace. The position also supports departmental leadership by participating in relationship building efforts with external organizations and internal departments to strengthen strategic partnerships.
Key Functions:
Coordinate student placements by collaborating with accredited academic partners to ensure positive, compliant onboarding experiences to include Sentara internal resources access as needed.
Manage student experience scheduling needs utilizing the appropriate software and providing support to internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for student- and customer-related inquiries, issues, and feedback.
Assist with managing and maintaining affiliation agreements with external educational organizations and coordinating with Legal and Risk as required.
Work cross functionally with internal teams to support operational efficiency, maintain compliance, and integrate students and learners effectively into the work environment.
Supports the department by attending relationship building efforts with external organizations and internal departments with the department supervisor to strengthen partnerships and support departmental goals.
