Financial Shared Services Associate

Position Summary
The Financial Shared Services Associate manages the end-to-end billing and collections process, ensuring timely customer payments and accurate financial record-keeping. Key duties include generating invoices, posting cash receipts (ACH, checks, credit cards), reconciling accounts, managing aging reports, resolving payment discrepancies, and performing collection
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate and dispatch accurate, timely invoices and credit memos to customers.
- Work with sales and operations to create invoicing for multiple customer sites and locations. Includes several billing types.
- Upload invoices created to multiple customer portals.
- Process incoming payments, posting checks, ACH, and wire transfers to the correct customer accounts.
- Monitor aging reports to identify overdue accounts, initiating collection calls or correspondence to secure payment.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries, billing discrepancies, and payment disputes.
- Reconcile AR sub-ledgers with the general ledger and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Bad debt provision.
- Assist with the processing of monthly tax filings
- Review new customer credit applications and set credit limits to mitigate risk.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable email, communicating with customers and internal management as necessary
- Ability to multitask a high volume of invoicing requests.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships within the organization; engage with cross-functional partners proactively in completion of job responsibilities
- Support ongoing process improvement projects
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or other relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least one (1) years of experience in an accounting or customer service or detail-oriented role required
- Experience with a large international firm highly preferred
- Ability to approach all work activities with a customer service focus
- Ability to work across geographies
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Uncompromising dedication to quality
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Fluent English, other European languages are a plus
- Must be driven and self-motivated
