    About the team

    As Senior Technical Program Manager, Product Development Acceleration, part of Zillow Research & Insights (ZRI), you'll be part of a team that sits at the intersection of consumer understanding and strategic decision-making within Zillow's Product Development organization. ZRI is focused on ensuring Zillow's most important decisions are grounded in evidence; pairing fast, activation-ready insights with deep foundational research that shapes product strategy across a multi-year horizon. The team plays a critical role in helping Zillow understand who its consumers are, what they need, and how well Zillow is delivering on that promise, and every person on the team contributes directly to that mission.

    About the role

    As Senior Technical Program Manager, Product Development Acceleration, you will lead and build AI-enabled tools that help teams learn faster and make better product decisions 

    You will operate as a senior individual contributor and primary builder of this newly-established portfolio. This is a senior technical program leadership role responsible for orchestrating the strategy, sequencing, and execution of the portfolio: 

    • defining the roadmap in partnership with leadership, 

    • building AI-powered internal tools that bring research into everyday product development workflows 

    • shipping these tools to the organization, driving adoption, measuring impact, and ensuring durability over time.

    Success in this role will unlock a trusted, reliable suite of research-owned AI solutions that are widely adopted across internal teams to help them understand what to solve, when to solve it, and how to move forward with confidence.

    You will get to

    Technical Program Strategy & Sequencing

    • Own and evolve research’s Product Dev Acceleration solutions suite, ensuring it delivers measurable impact across Product, Design, and Business teams.

    • Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to shape, sequence, and operationalize the portfolio roadmap, bringing technical constraints, dependency mapping, and risk analysis into roadmap decisions.

    • Translate strategic initiatives into structured technical programs, defining milestones, success criteria, risk mitigations, and cross-team dependencies to ensure reliable delivery.

    Cross-Functional Execution & Delivery

    • As a connective layer across Research, Product, Eng, and Design, Identify, surface, and mitigate technical, organizational, and dependency risks across the portfolio, proactively resolving blockers before they impact delivery.

    • Measure success through usage, reliability, and learning impact metrics, and iterate based on evidence.

    Architecture & Technical Fluency

    • Architect, build, and iterate AI-native tools using modern AI coding environments and agentic frameworks, without dedicated engineering headcount.

    • Make technical architecture and feature prioritization decisions that ensure scalability, usability, and long-term durability, with embedded responsible AI practices and data privacy safeguards.

    Organizational Integration & Change

    • Lead cross-functional change management to embed the portfolio’s capabilities into existing operational rhythms (planning, documentation, review processes), reducing friction and ensuring durable integration.
       

    This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

    In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $148,600.00 - $237,400.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont the standard base pay range for this role is $141,200.00 - $225,600.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

    In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

    Who you are

    • A technical leader with experience using modern AI tools to solve business problems; demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining durable internal software systems that serve internal business users.

    • Strong technical fluency in applied AI and system design, with hands-on experience using modern AI coding environments (e.g., Replit, Claude Code) to prototype and scale solutions.

    • Able to independently lead and build in ambiguous environments, learning quickly to harness evolving AI capabilities

    • Demonstrated fluency across product, program, and technical domains, with the ability to flex across these areas depending on program needs with a focus on scalable operating models.

    • Proven experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs in high-ambiguity environments, influencing without formal authority

    • Data-driven and pragmatic, using metrics, reliability indicators, and adoption signals to iteratively improve system performance and impact.

    • Thoughtful about responsible AI and data governance, proactively embedding safeguards into technical design.
