Field Technical Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• Support the promotion and adoption of Abbott's Electrophysiology portfolio for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, providing technical support, clinical education, and training to healthcare professionals within the assigned territory.
• Develop a strong understanding of Abbott's products, therapies, clinical applications, and value proposition to support customer engagement and business growth.
• Support the management and development of existing customer accounts, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the achievement of sales and market development objectives.
• Contribute to improving patient outcomes through the safe and effective adoption of Abbott technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Participate in a structured training and development program designed to build the clinical, technical, and commercial competencies required for a successful career within Abbott's Electrophysiology organization.
• Ensure full compliance with all Abbott Regulatory, Quality, Compliance, and Business Ethics policies and procedures.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide clinical and technical support during Electrophysiology procedures using Abbott technologies and equipment.
• Support customer education and training programs, workshops, product demonstrations, and clinical evaluations.
• Assist with the implementation of marketing initiatives and product launches while actively identifying new market opportunities.
• Execute territory plans to increase market penetration and support sustainable business growth within the assigned region.
• Maintain a regular customer visit plan to strengthen relationships, understand customer needs, and identify business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, and other healthcare stakeholders.
• Participate in local and international scientific meetings, congresses, educational events, and customer programs, promoting Abbott technologies and supporting attendees.
• Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive products, industry developments, and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate closely with the Customer Service team to facilitate accurate and timely order processing and customer support.
• Monitor and report hospital consignment inventories and trunk stock levels, ensuring appropriate inventory management, product availability, and traceability.
• Maintain accurate product traceability records, inventories, and documentation in accordance with Abbott Quality and Regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate customer, activity, and opportunity records using Abbott business systems and CRM tools.
• Provide regular business updates to the Manager, reporting on customer activities, market developments, opportunities, and key account progress while contributing to the annual operating plan.
• Effectively manage and communicate weekly travel schedules, customer visits, and engagement plans.
• Conduct business activities in accordance with Abbott policies, including pricing, quotations, credit terms, expense management, and commercial practices.
• Represent Abbott with the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct, ensuring compliance with all applicable EMEA Business Ethics, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial policies.

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
University qualifications in:
• Clinical Physiology / Cardiopneumology; Biomedical Engineering; Biomedical Sciences or related Healthcare disciplines.
Skills & Competencies:
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Strong interest in Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and innovative medical technologies.
• Previous exposure to healthcare environments, medical devices, or clinical technologies is an advantage.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn clinical and technical software applications.
