    The mission of the Commit Backend team is to build and scale the distributed platform that powers Outreach’s forecasting and opportunity management systems. From opportunity lifecycle management and forecasting rollups to goal tracking. Our services directly impact revenue predictability and customer trust.
    We operate in a cloud-native, service-oriented architecture at scale. The problems are complex, the expectations are high, and the impact is real.

    The Role

    We are hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer, driving architectural direction, leading cross-team initiatives, and ensuring predictable delivery of high-impact programs.
    This role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong cross-functional leadership. You will create clarity in ambiguous environments, proactively remove blockers, and consistently drive initiatives to a measurable path to green.
    Location: Remote-friendly, with planned in-office collaborations in Hyderabad.
    Your Daily Adventures Will Include:
  1. Architect and evolve distributed, service-oriented systems with a focus on scalability and resiliency.
  2. Identify performance bottlenecks, systemic risks, and reliability gaps before they impact customers.
  3. Lead large, cross-team technical initiatives from concept through production.
  4. Drive planning, estimation, milestone tracking, and delivery discipline.
  5. Align engineering, product, and platform stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
  6. Break down complex systems into clean service boundaries and sustainable architectures.
  7. Raise the quality bar through strong testing, reviews, and operational excellence practices.
  8. Mentor senior engineers and elevate technical standards across the organization.
    9. Our Vision of You:
  9. Min 10+ years of experience building and scaling distributed backend systems.
  10. Deep expertise in cloud-native and service-oriented architectures.
  11. Strong system design skills with long-term architectural thinking.
  12. Proven track record of leading complex, multi-team initiatives.
  13. Operational thinking to ensure smooth customer experience through focus on monitoring, metrics and building accountability around SLA and SLOs
  14. Exceptional ownership, accountability, and execution discipline.
  15. Strong planning, tracking, and delivery management capabilities.
  16. Ability to influence without formal authority. Clear and effective communication across technical and executive audiences.
  17. Ruby/Go experience is preferred but not mandatory.
