    The Opportunity

StartEngine is building the future of private-market investing, and we are seeking an accomplished sales leader to lead and expand our Private Sales team.

As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the performance, development, and growth of a team of FINRA-registered representatives serving accredited investors and offering sought-after pre-IPO securities through the secondary market.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to hire and develop exceptional sales professionals, establish a culture of accountability, and consistently translate strategy into results. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and brings a strong understanding of complex financial products and consultative sales.

  2. Recruit, evaluate, onboard, and develop sales professionals as the business grows.

  3. Establish clear performance expectations, revenue goals, and accountability standards.

  4. Drive revenue growth by strengthening the sales process, improving deal execution, and increasing investor engagement.

  5. Provide hands-on coaching in areas such as investor calls, deal strategy, objection handling, and closing.

  6. Use KPIs, conversion data, and pipeline analysis to identify opportunities and improve individual and team performance.

  7. Foster a high-performance sales culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional investor service.

  8. Ensure the team operates in accordance with FINRA requirements and all applicable internal policies and procedures.

  9. Partner closely with executive leadership, Compliance, and Operations to execute strategic growth initiatives.

  10. What We're Looking For
  11. Active FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses, with the Series 24 required for this supervisory role.

  12. Demonstrated success leading and developing commission-based sales teams within financial services.

  13. Experience selling complex financial products, such as private securities, alternative investments, or secondary-market offerings.

  14. A strong coaching orientation and a track record of developing high-performing sales professionals.

  15. A thorough understanding of accredited investors and relationship-driven, consultative sales.

  16. Strong analytical skills and experience using performance data to guide decisions and improve results.

  17. The ability to balance ambitious revenue goals with sound supervisory practices and regulatory compliance.

  18. A competitive, accountable, and results-oriented leadership style.

  19. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to build, refine, and scale processes in a rapidly evolving environment.
