    About the Role
We’re building a data-intensive platform that ingests information from a wide range of external sources, enriches and routes it, and serves rich visualization and analytics on top. We’re looking for a senior engineer who’s comfortable moving across the stack - backend services, data analytics, cloud infrastructure, and a modern web frontend - and who cares as much about how we make decisions as the code we ship.
    Responsibilities
  1. A durable, multi-source ingestion pipeline that connects to external sources, transforms and deduplicates events, and routes them to multiple specialized stores
  2. A web application that visualizes and queries that data, including interactive views.
  3. A data access layer spanning relational, graph, and analytical stores - designed to respect each engine’s strengths rather than flatten them behind a lowest-common-denominator API.
  4. Cloud deployment on managed Kubernetes, with reproducible builds and a strong supply-chain story.
  5. Observability end to end - traces, metrics, logs, and the dashboards that turn them into something use.
  6. Requirements
  7. 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend services with strong fundamentals in a modern systems or application language. We primarily use Go and Rust—deep expertise and a willingness to learn is ideal.
  8. Production experience with a Go web framework (e.g., Buffalo, Echo, Chi, Gin) and familiarity with Rust's async ecosystem (e.g., Tokio, Axum, Tower, tracing).
  9. Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, including Postgres; experience with graph databases and/or columnar analytical data stores is a plus.
  10. Hands-on experience deploying and operating services in Kubernetes at scale, including managed clusters, Helm charts, and troubleshooting in-cluster issues.
  11. Experience building modern web applications using React, TypeScript, Vite, and mapping libraries.
  12. Experience implementing and maintaining OpenTelemetry instrumentation beyond default configurations.
  13. Strong API and software abstraction design skills, with experience designing systems across heterogeneous backends and making thoughtful architectural trade offs.
  14. Excellent technical communication skills, including writing design documents, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), acceptance criteria, and other engineering documentation before implementation.
  15. Compensation
  16. Salary + ($150,000 - $185,000) + Equity
  17. Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
  18. Benefits
  19. Medical, Dental, Vision coverage
  20. HSA/FSA options
  21. Parental Leave
  22. 401(k): 100% match for the first 6% contributed
  23. Unlimited Paid Time Off
  24. Home Office Stipend
  25. Develops AI-powered 3D modeling, computer vision, and biometric solutions for military and public safety decision-making.
