    Job Description:

    The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as a Data Center Transformer Specialist and help shape the electrical backbone of the world’s most advanced digital infrastructure. In this role, you’ll become a trusted expert driving the electrical design, performance optimization, and standardization of power transformers engineered specifically for hyperscale and colocation data centers.

You’ll collaborate across global engineering, manufacturing, and customer‑facing teams to deliver robust, efficient, and scalable transformer solutions that power cloud services, AI growth, and high‑availability digital ecosystems.

If you thrive in a fast‑growing sector, love solving complex engineering challenges, and want to influence next‑generation data center technologies, this is your chance to make a meaningful global impact—while advancing your career in an innovative, people‑centered organization.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Lead electrical design for advanced data center transformers, including winding concepts, losses, insulation, and performance optimization.
    • Develop calculations, simulations, and engineering documentation for bids and execution.
    • Align designs with IEEE, IEC, and customer‑specific requirements.
    • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, cooling, and system engineering teams.
    • Participate in customer design reviews and present engineering rationale.
    • Support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
    • Drive innovation and standardization in materials, design methods, and digital enhancements.
    • Provide technical input for tenders, vendor evaluations, and project delivery.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

    Your Background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
    • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, ideally with power transformers or data center applications.
    • Deep knowledge of transformer electrical design, insulation systems, losses, and short‑circuit behavior.
    • Strong understanding of IEEE/IEC transformer standards.
    • Experience collaborating across global, multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
    • Familiarity with analysis and simulation tools such as Trafostar/Spectra.
