    The Opportunity

    Adobe Network Engineering (NetEng) seeks a Principal Scientist hands-on network architect to accelerate innovation of NetEng service delivery and financial optimization

    What you'll Do

    • Architecture and design: As a networking expert, co-develop and infuse network architecture vision, strategy, architecture, design, and implementation across NetEng teams and throughout the global network
    • Software development: As a software development expert, bring mature and innovative solutioning vision, methods, and tools to improve Adobe network service delivery and support
    • Innovation: Model cross-team leadership and excellence in network growth enablement, increase velocity and reduce friction of network fulfillment requests, improve operational accuracy, speed, and efficiency
    • Knowledge acquisition and sharing: Incrementally discover, educate and introduce industry standard methodologies
    • Leadership: Use respected solutioning and thought leadership to define and deliver the network roadmap rooted in prior subject matter and organizational leadership expertise; professionally represent Adobe externally as appropriate; provides a role model for Adobe principal scientists, architects, and engineers
    • Location: Given the global scope and cross-regional collaboration expectations for this role, hiring for talent vs. proximity to a single office is the priority, however, the San Jose, Lehi, or Bucharest offices are preferred
    • Team contribution: Models transparent, inclusive and collaborative value delivery
    • Reduce network incident frequency
    • Reduce network change-related impact
    • Reduce network incident restoration time (MTTR)
    • Shorten network request fulfillment time for the most common network requests
    • Reduce manual NetEng work or toil

    What you need to succeed

    • 15+ years of relevant experience demonstrating the following skills in large organizations
    • Technical depth and skill breadth across many network engineering rigors - transport, data center LAN switching, security, load balancing, campus, and network services like DNS, DHCP, IPAM
    • Real-world large-company operational approaches centered on ITIL event management, incident management, problem management, and process improvements
    • Current software development methos and tools
    • Formal and informal team leadership

    Expected Pay Range:

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $184,600 -- $357,900 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

     

    


    At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

    In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
