Gartner is seeking a Sr. Director Analyst to join our Technical Professionals practice, focusing on AI integration, API management, and orchestration. This role is designed for a hands-on expert who can bridge the gap between technical implementation and market realities, delivering actionable insights to clients on establishing robust interfaces for AI integration. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, practical experience, and a relentless curiosity about emerging AI technologies and their impact on enterprise architecture.

    What You Will Do:

    • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on AI integration strategies, API management, and AI orchestration, with a focus on practical implementation and operational excellence.
    • Author research notes, market guides, and best practices that help clients navigate the complexities of integrating AI into existing ecosystems, including API-driven architectures and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
    • Advise clients (including architects and integration leaders) on vendor selection, technology adoption, and implementation challenges, leveraging hands-on experience and market familiarity.
    • Deliver presentations, webinars, and client engagements that cut through industry hype, providing objective, evidence-based recommendations and actionable insights.
    • Monitor and analyze market trends, vendor offerings, and emerging technologies related to AI integration, API management, and AI, ensuring Gartner clients remain ahead of the curve.
    • Collaborate with fellow analysts and research teams to develop cross-domain perspectives on AI integration, security, scalability, and governance.
    • Maintain a pulse on the rapid evolution of AI, APIs, and integration platforms, adapting research and recommendations to reflect new developments and client needs.

    What You Will Need:

    • 10+ years of hands-on experience in integration, API management, and AI orchestration, ideally within enterprise environments.
    • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and managing API-driven architectures, integration platforms, and AI interfaces.
    • Deep familiarity with market-leading vendors, open-source solutions, and emerging players in the API, integration, and AI space.
    • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely, both in written research and verbal client interactions.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize market data, client feedback, and technical trends into actionable guidance.
    • Insatiable curiosity and adaptability, with a track record of continuous learning and engagement with new technologies.
    • Ability to critically evaluate vendor claims, industry hype, and evolving standards, providing clients with objective, practical recommendations.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with AI-native integration platforms, API gateways, and orchestration tools.
    • Background in designing interfaces for AI/ML pipelines, including considerations for security, scalability, and compliance.
    • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems.
    • Published research, blogs, or thought leadership in the integration/API/AI domain.
