    What you will do as an Area Sales Manager at GLS?
    The Area Sales Manager acts as a company ambassador to automotive dealers within the assigned market area. It is the responsibility of this position to expand company market share by signing new dealers, developing existing relationships, and increasing awareness and adoption of the company’s lending program(s).
    How will you drive value within the organization as an Area Sales Manager?
  1. Educate dealers on all aspects of the company lending program(s) and how to maximize the value of the program(s) for their individual dealership
  2. Partner with other operational teams to capture quality business from existing dealers and increase utilization of the program(s)
  3. Build and expand the assigned territory by identifying and signing new dealerships
  4. Make regular dealer visits, cold calls, and take inbound calls from dealerships to build relationships and capture business
  5. Maintain high quality customer satisfaction and retention of dealers
  6. Complete and submit documentation to track and assess established goals
  7. Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management
  8. Participate in special projects as needed
  9. Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management
  10. What should you already know to be successful as an Area Sales Manager?
  11. Three (3) years’ experience in auto finance with sub-prime auto financing experience
  12. Three (3) years’ experience in sales with auto industry experience
  13. Knowledge of the local market with established customer relationships
  14. Intrinsically motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
  15. Excellent interpersonal skills: friendly and tactful with the ability to influence others, effectively manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential information, interact at all levels within the organization, and build cross-functional partnerships across the business
  16. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  17. Team player that can adapt in a fast pace and changing environment
  18. Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
  19. Commitment to exemplifying the organizational core values and key competencies
  20. Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively set and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  21. Work Requirements:
  22. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  23. Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
  24. Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
  25. Must have the ability to operate from a home office
  26. This position does require extensive travel both in a vehicle and by air; travel is to be expected 75% of the time, with overnight travel and extended hours
