    The Opportunity:

    The Senior Business Analytics Specialist works closely with the entire Analytics team and other business units to contribute to the development and support of the Member Insight product. This includes supporting end-user engagement processes, report development for clients, creating educational assets and training materials, enhancing existing products or services, monitoring daily files, and communication strategies as assigned.

    Responsibilities also include identifying initial concepts or reported issues, assessing the impact of changes, developing specific work efforts, capturing and documenting requirements, and developing end-user engagement work products with an effective communication plan. The Senior Business Analytics Specialist will also serve as a direct liaison for strategic clients in creating and developing reports.

    The incumbent will work closely with internal and external end-users to analyze and translate information between assigned business and operational teams, aligning needs with current or future capabilities delivered through Velera Member Insight solutions. The Senior Business Analytics Specialist reports to the applicable Analytics Solution Manager.

    Day in the Life:

    • Possess well-rounded knowledge of Velera analytics data delivery solutions and effectively champion and promote analytic tools, methods, and conceptual approaches by demonstrating paths to improved business intelligence and decision-making.
    • Assist and facilitate client-facing training and webcasts.
    • Actively participate in Data and Analytics activities to improve department processes and procedures.
    • Mentor and support Analytic Business Specialists.
    • Manage multiple priorities and deal effectively with senior management, staff members, clients, and vendors, including conducting in-person or virtual presentations.
    • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate with and influence others.
    • Utilize strong research or technical skills to conduct business or industry-wide analysis of current and emerging best practices that support or bolster analytic engagement.
    • Successfully define and execute within product lifecycle and iterative design processes for new work products (reports, educational assets, engagement techniques).
    • Actively participate in formal projects to produce project definition/initiation documents, clearly defining scope and project objectives; elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements; understand business risks; and transition from requirements to solutions and business implementation principles (as assigned).
    • Monitor daily files to ensure the delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Provide SLA reporting to clients.
    • Monitor processor changes to files and reports.
    • Collect, evaluate, and compress data and information from multiple sources, elicit actual user needs, and document new concepts or remediation plans.
    • Construct basic process models and gather requirements for new processes and conceptual data flows.
    • Develop use cases and execute test scripts for user acceptance testing processes.
    • Identify, develop, and support business implementation and readiness tasks, mitigating risk and remediating end-user adoption hurdles.
    • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with all levels of the organization, exhibiting strong conflict resolution skills for maintaining diplomatic relations with all stakeholders.
    • Comply with and explain internal policies regarding consumer privacy, intellectual property protection, and confidential communications.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred – Business Administration, Marketing, or Information Systems preferred field of study.
    • Five (5) years within the payments industry are required.
    • Five (5) years of Business Analysis experience are also required.
    • Five (5) years of experience with data delivery or analytics tools is preferred.
    • A deep understanding of customer engagement/service principles is also preferred.  
    • Demonstrates a basic commercial awareness of the financial services industries and the role of processors, payment networks, and major aspects of the payments ecosystem including card management, card and ACH transactions, rewards, fraud mitigation.  Comprehensive knowledge of one or more of the noted subject areas is preferred.
    • Advanced experience with SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, and demonstrated ability to create visualized reporting, required.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with internal staff and client staff (typically  Business Analysts, Data Owners, Data Delivery Solution Owners, and business and operational staff) through interviews or indirect channels.
    • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, credit unions and vendors.
    • Some travel may be required.  Approximately 1- 10 business days per year.

      Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
