    In this role you put your analytical skills to the test and dig into what’s important, what’s broken, and what it will take to provide a solution. You’re working with everyone from jobsite supervisors to the C-Suite on an improvement that provides real benefits for a construction company.

    Common duties for this position include captivating sales presentations, dynamic product demos, and seamless product installation and maintenance. You’ll assess how products align with customer needs and craft detailed prototype demonstrations to drive customer solutions. This position works closely with the sales management team, as well as members of the direct and customer sales teams. The sales engineer helps ensure that Trimble

    products are represented accurately and client concerns are addressed effectively.

     

    Key Exciting Responsibilities

    • Supports the Trimble Viewpoint sales team by assisting with sales presentations/demonstrations. 

    • Consult with prospects to help them determine which software solutions best fit their business. 

    • The sales engineer is an expert at the discovery process and has the ability to document and solve critical business issues. 

    • Can communicate extensive construction industry experience, specifically focused on the major workflows in construction project management and field solutions. 

    • Specific knowledge in how construction companies collect and manage data, how they use data to set KPIs and how to improve decision-making. 

    • Demonstrated ability to motivate workers within the team to perform to the best of their abilities. 

    • Demonstrated good judgment when dealing with undefined situations and business process challenges. 

    • Ability to clearly document product functionality requirements and desired workflow outcomes. 

    • Demonstrates excellent written/verbal communication skills.

    • Listens effectively, transmits information accurately and understandably, and actively seeks feedback. 

    • Effectively presents and explains information to various group sizes and levels of knowledge. 

    • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. 

    • Handles confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment. 

    • Represents Trimble with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. 

    • The sales engineer can use their extensive software and industry knowledge to present critical success factors. These factors validate the software solutions presented. 

    • Responsible for complex client-specific cross-application prototype presentations. 

    • Assist with various demonstration-deployment strategies across the Trimble Project Management workflow solutions. Provides consulting expertise in understanding and addressing the needs of executives (i.e., CEO, CFO, COO, etc.)

    • Provides construction industry expertise to address client issues and facilitate the sale. 

    • Work directly with Viewpoint Trimble consulting by documenting process gaps, product issues, reporting requirements and a myriad of other solutions/workarounds. Maintain an adequate knowledge base. Help maintain the master software presentation library and sales tools. 

    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Educational Foundation: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Construction Management (or equivalent expert experience in construction management or construction software consulting).

    • Industry Expertise: You possess deep knowledge of the construction industry, specifically concerning construction accounting, P&L metrics, key workflows (change orders, invoice review, etc.), and data collection.

    • Software Proficiency: You have hands-on experience with Trimble Viewpoint Vista

    • Software or similar enterprise-level ERP solutions (e.g., Spectrum, CMiC, Sage, etc.).

    • Communication Mastery: You are a natural communicator, able to translate complex technical specifications into persuasive presentations for diverse audiences.

    • Reliability and Integrity: You will represent Trimble with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. You handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence, and good judgement.

    Bonus Points For:

    • Heavy Civil expertise: Prior experience as a key employee (controller, accountant,project manager, etc.) for a contractor that specializes in horizontal or underground construction.

    Logistics:

    Location: Remote, US.

     

    Travel Requirement: Up to 25%.

    Compensation:  Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.

    $74,200.00–$102,200.00
